Europcar London Croydon

I was slightly concerned about hiring a van for a week through this branch after reading some of the negative reviews. But I have to say that the service was really good from start to finish. The van, although 3 years old, was really clean and good to drive up to Humberside and back. Pick up and drop off was comprehensive and the garage guy also suggested that I take photos of all four sides of the van before driving off which I thought was a good idea.I'll definitely hire from them again, although i may look into taking out my own Damage Excess Insurance as the cost of taken the excess down from £1,500 to £250 was quite expensive in my view.All in all - very good.

I’ve only given 1 star as I had to give a rating. Disgusting company and service is beyond shocking. After making us sign their terms and assuring us the cars go through rigorous checks we broke down on day 1 of a 8 day hire and endangering my 3 young children’s lives on a motorway due to not checking or maintaining the vehicle as promised as when the RAC arrived there was no clutch fluid. There was no leaks reported and was reported as unsafe to drive and not being topped up or maintained. We have a copy of the report too. After days & hours of trying to speak with Europcar to complain and get resolved we were promised a replacement car on day 6 of our 8 day hire, which arrived late wasting yet another day of our holiday. The local branch to where we was staying was Exeter and they came out to exchange the car and refused to drive the original car we hired from Croydon as they also deemed the car to be unfit to drive so left the original car parked up. We since returned the new car and have been told by the Croydon Manager it will take several weeks to resolve and investigate even though we have provided all the information and reported the issue over a week ago! Their attitude in Croydon and customer services is truly awful and I would highly recommend you use other hire companies as clearly they have no integrity and clearly don’t value their customers lives. In truth I wouldn’t even give them a 1 star rating! Ironically once I told them the car would be illegally parked once we checked out they managed to collect the car from the site that same day! Nothing but a truly unacceptable and disturbing experience from start to finish.

Pick up experience was ok but drop off was bad as only 1 staff to handle 4 customers in line. Took a loooong time to settle the return mainly due to waiting to be served. MG suv vehicles are big with fancy interior but hopeless vehicle to drive.

Very disapoiting I booked a car, when I go there to pick it up its not available only monday and I have to pick it up saturday . On the website show that is available but when you go there to pick it up its not .Never ever recomand europcar !

These bad reviews had me worried but I had a great experience. The guy in front of me took forever due to some problems with his address, but once I was served it was fast and easy. The guy who showed me to my car was fabulous. The car itself was nice and I was happy to pay the fee to drop off at Heathrow, which also went very smoothly.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to give zero stars. Very bad company, and an awful branch of the company. They cancelled my van rental at the very last minute, and left me with no van on the day our move. It was the most chaotic day of my life. Stay away for your good.

Leaving another 1 star review. what a joke this company is. You reply to everyone's bad reviews telling them to contact you via email to resolve their issue but when you try to do this it doesn't allow you and only gives telephone numbers to call, which going by reviews, no one helps over the phone either. I wouldn't recommend anyone use Europcar. They lied on my invoice and said I left with the van I had hired 20 mins after my booking started but actually I didn't leave in the van until TWO HOURS AFTER my booking started. This made me 3 hours late for a studio booking, meaning I couldn't take the car back the same day so they STOLE £30 from my deposit for taking it back the next morning, even though it was their fault for giving me the van TWO HOURS LATE.

Agonisingly painful visit to this branch. Arrive 8am with van with faulty engine light. Plenty of staff wondering round. Branch manager stuck in office too busy to help staff help me. Has taken 2 hrs to swap me into a new vehicle and I’m the only customer here.Utter madness you may as well walk

I had an emergency, my car was at the mechanic and I rented it, however, when I got there, I arrived just at closing time. The person who helped me was very impatient and couldn't understand why I was telling him that I had an emergency. He treated me very very badly.
