The Letting Game - Letting Agents Bristol

Absolutely do not rent from the letting game. We arrived to move in and the third party inventory man told us the house was not in a habitable state and that the landlord or agency hadn’t completed any of the necessary works between tenants.We arrived to a house with no functioning oven (glass from oven door was smashed and still scattered on the floor when we arrived), all the appliances (fridges, freezers, washing machines etc) not installed and just sat in one of the bedrooms as well as mouldy walls and curtains and paint peeling off the walls.One month on and our showers still leak into the kitchen (rendering them unusable as it is causing structural damage to the house), our back door is still a security risk, curtains are still mouldy with over half the rooms not even having curtain rails installed (I could go on but I’d be typing for hours).We are paying £3,750 a month for a house that isn’t in a fit state to live in with no promising signs of speedy repairs.(Edit RE the letting game’s response: The oven was not replaced the day we moved in, it took 3 days for us to get a functional oven. To claim otherwise is a bold faced lie. The agency was made aware of the majority of the issues 2 weeks before we moved in, however the inventory man said nothing but the kitchen floor had been repaired, they broke our tenancy contract the second they handed us the keys to the house. I think a month and 2 weeks for a “professional” agency to restore the house to a habitable state is perfectly reasonable. Utterly incompetent and frankly disrespectful to publicly lie in an attempt to save face.)

First impressions count, genuine interactions instil lasting trust.I first spoke with Tracy from the Letting Game a year ago now, and remember how warm and welcoming she was even though we did not end up renting through their team at the time.I thought that it was because Tracy was being kind to a fellow SAFFA, but the friendliness was not unique to Tracy.Overall, The Letting Game Team have been friendly, efficient and communicative throughout the entire process.Tobi greeted us with a big, genuine smile at the viewing and Akaysha has been phenomenal throughout the entire application and referencing process, with both Tobi and Akaysha going above and beyond to ensure that we were well supported and that the landlord was comfortable with our tennant dynamics and our 'one dog and two cats, renter challenge', but neither ever made us feel like renting with family and pets was an inconvenience (as most other rental agencies had).Having a fellow South African call me up and tell me that the landlord was happy to proceed with us as Tennant's really meant so much more to me that I could explain, but I would have been just as joyful had Tobi or Akaysha called.We have interacted with a number of rental agencies in the last few months, and we really have been blown away by the Letting Game Team and their personable interactions. I highly recommend monitoring their rentals and signing up with their teams database.

I used the lettings game for 3 years. 2.5 years were fantastic. The last 6 months have been terrible. Jennifer is unable to remember my name after numerous emails and calls so calls me by the name of someone else, even when I correct her she continues to call me a different name. I asked her to give me my keys back at 10.30am she then gained entry to my apartment without my permission and doesn’t respond to my wishes for my keys to be returned. I have made numerous complaints of a lack of communication and having to chase for any feedback at all, which shock horror is met with no response. Incompetent beyond belief. If you are a landlord do not use.

The letting game has been the easiest and most personable letting agency we have worked with in Bristol! They are friendly, timely, clear on information, and we have never felt ignored. We have met and interacted with so many different estate agents including the one we have been with for over 2.5 yrs and The Letting Game has by far been the best!!
