Kyle of Tongue Cottages
Excellent, very relaxing, week’s stay. It was exactly what we needed. The house was very clean, and supplied with all the basics and more. The views from the house are spectacular and it is centrally located for exploring the coast to the west and north. The sunroom was lovely and cosy and it was impossible to pass it without being pulled-in. We enjoyed the comfy beds and clean white linen, which were conducive to many full-night’s sleep. Emily and Barry, as always, were very friendly and welcoming, being ready to answer queries and come to our assistance if required. We welcomed not being able to imbibe anxiety through the news on the TV, but we’re also glad of internet access for local information, keeping in touch (if we really wanted to) and photos. We would not hesitate in going back next time we choose to holiday in the area.

Kyle of Tongue Cottages
We cannot commend Beach Cottage, Coldbackie highly enough. It was simply the ideal accommodation for us. Immaculate and very well appointed. Emily and Barrie were so kind in allowing us to have our two elderly labradors to stay as well. I hope that we will be teaching at the Feis air an Oir in Bettyhill next year, and if so, I really hope that we can say at the cottage again.Thanks E and B.Bob and Alison Massie

Kyle of Tongue Cottages
We had the great pleasure of staying at Emily and Barry's Beach Cottage at Coldbackie between 22nd and 27th October - I think we can safely say it would be harder to find a more comfortable holiday home, or indeed kinder hospitality from the hosts.The location is pure, wild North Coast, in a tiny hamlet with a gorgeous beach right below, whereas the house itself blends modern luxury with a traditional snug cottage feel. Add in Emily and Barry's obvious care and kindness, and I would say you have the perfect location for a 'get away from it all' family holiday.

Stayed at 'Lochside' near Bettyhill for 10 days - a lovely spacious bungalow in beautiful, peaceful surroundings. Virtually no other signs of civilisation - a perfect place to relax and enjoy the northern Highlands.

We recently stayed at Lochside in Bettyhill. It had been newly refurbished and looked like a new house from the original pictures we had seen on booking, a whole new kitchen, cooker , floors, doors etc. Beautiful location not too far from main road/ nc500 but felt a million miles away 40 minutes walk to beach and village/ nearest shop, great base for exploring the North coastEmily was a great host, provided some food items and toiletries , she was very helpful, great contact, answering any queries usually within a few hours, and a fountain of knowledge. I would thoroughly recommend Kyle of Tongue Cottages

Kyle of Tongue Cottages
This is the most perfect holiday spot - sitting above a glorious beach, with stunning, far reaching views across to the islands, this lovely croft has been beautifully renovated and extended. The bedrooms are comfy, the sitting room is cosy and the brilliantly equipped kitchen is generous with the advantage of a laundry room and downstairs shower room just behind. Couldn't recommend more highly.

If you’re looking for a quiet get away set in one of the most beautiful locations then The Byre is perfect. As it was the Christmas season we didn’t get to explore the restaurants around - but we were able to use the small but well equipped kitchen in the accommodation to concoct all our meals- including our Christmas lunch. There was plenty of tea and coffee and hot chocolate provided, as well as plenty of kindling, wood and other things needed to get a fire going for the evening times.The space has been very well thought out- the bathroom in particular was much more generous in size than I was expecting and the shower was superb.There are plenty of gorgeous walks to try out around the immediate area- a few of which you can do on foot from the front door of The Byre.All in all : we had a wonderful time here and hope to return again soon.

Kyle of Tongue Cottages
We really enjoyed our stay at Midtown, the house is lovely and had everything our family needed. The views were absolutely stunning and the weather amazing. We have stayed in this cottage several times now and Emily is always so helpful and friendly and provides lots of information in advance of our stay and is easily contactable throughout should we ever need anything. The Craggan is just a short walk along the road and serves great food and there are several gorgeous beaches nearby, our children love Talmine beach especially. We can't wait to return!
