The Tolkien Trail
A great varied walk that delivers more than you are expecting. Woodland, rivers and fields. Not well signposted so make sure you have a map.

The Tolkien Trail
Did an extended 20k walk which included the Tolkien trail. Easy walk for the most part, long parts where we saw hardly a soul.... Nive right verside and woodland stretches too. Definitely recommended

The Tolkien Trail
I've walked this route so many times, and have fond memories of my children running free by the river. But today I was horrified to see a once beautiful country walk hemmed into a single track nightmare of overgrown nettles, cheap astroturf and constantly stopping to let other people squeeze past. Get used to being told exactly which square centimetres you may walk on. And from now on: single file only.

We did the Fell walk, great hike mainly on roads but great views once you get up into the forestry land. Stopped for lunch at the top so the whole thing took us around 3.5 hours.

The Tolkien Trail
Nice walk. It was a bit further than I'd thought and was more hilly than expected, but some lovely countryside and views along the way. Only 1/2 a mile on the road, and plenty of parking at the start and finish line

Great walk now even better that some of the paths have been turfed. Stunning countryside and woodland. Variety of optiona to make the walk a little smaller if it's too long. Full walk takes just over 2 hours at a steady pace. Millie's Ice cream shop in Hurst Green to end with a treat. Free car parking (or small donation) next to Bailey Arms pub.
