This is a fantastic place. We never have to wait long to be seen. In all my years of using their services I have nothing but praise for them. They're always reassuring and have a good bedside manner. Whether or not it's been a stroke of luck having always experienced short waiting times I would recommend this place first before going to ED. Try to call ahead of travelling there perhaps.

Staff are unhelpful, uncaring, aggressive, impatient and down right rude.I was made to feel like a total inconvenience and my visit was an interruption to the coffee slurping and biscuit munching.First time going her and my last, what a waste of time.Telling me theres no point in them doing an x-ray cos i dont know on what day and at what time i have injured myself then suggesting i go to A and E for an x-ray.Whilst i was in the waiting it was like they were trying to find reasons to not see people and even though it wasnt busy they had no interest in treating people, trying to turn away a frail old lady with an injury to her hand. These people are in the wrong job.Absolutely disgusting.

I had an appalling experience with this Minor Injuries Unit today. I have injured my ankle and it is getting progressively worse and I am struggling to walk (particularly up and down stairs). I live 5 minutes away from Rotherham Hospital but to my knowledge at the time I did not believe Rotherham Hospital had the facilities for minor injuries as I understood it to just have A&E facilities. As my ankle is not a life and death situation, I deemed it appropriate to go to this unit instead as I did not want to waste A&E time.I arrived at the unit and was seen to by a lady with dark hair tied back in a pony tail. Her demeanour was immediately unpleasant and not particularly friendly. I explained my symptoms to her (pain, stiffness, struggling to move it and walk etc) and she asked me how I had injured it. I explained to her that I did not know how I had injured it. She replied that, because I did not know how I had injured it, she would not do anything for me as that is their “policy”. My argument would be that if I knew what injury I had I wouldn’t have needed to see a professional! The whole point of my visit was to get it assessed to see if it was a sprain or something else. So I spent over £30 in taxis there and back for her to not even look at it.Her rationale for not assessing me was that, because I didn’t know exactly what I had done, she couldn’t be sure it was an injury. By this point I was highly frustrated and I said that I was 25 so it was unlikely to be arthritis or a disease (I have medical knowledge myself and I am aware that arthritis is uncommon in people my age, albeit not impossible) to which I received a very condescending and sarcastic reply of “Well, I’m 30 and I have arthritis”. Not a particularly helpful nor empathetic response! The woman informed me that I should go to Rotherham A&E instead to be seen to. I did this and Rotherham A&E triaged me to Rotherham Minor Injuries Unit, who were lovely and dealt with me straight away by doing a physical examination and x-raying the injury. When I asked why Mexborough Minor Injuries Unit wouldn’t see me but and Rotherham Minor Injuries Unit would, the staff at Rotherham said they had no idea because the staff at both units have the same roles. Apparently, it is quite common for the Mexborough Unit to turn people away and send them to the Rotherham Unit instead, with what appears to be no valid reason other than this supposed aforementioned “policy”.If it is “policy” that they will not assess injuries unless the patient knows how they’ve been caused, surely this should be mentioned on the website to save people the hassle, time, and money? All in all, if you want to be seen to by a competent, caring and useful professional go to Rotherham instead.

After reading all the nice reviews, to say I'm shocked is an understatement. I went to the minor injuries unit hoping to be helped for my shoulder. I arrived and spoke to the receptionist, who refused me as I said the pain started 2 months ago (I thought maybe I had slept on my shoulder funny and it would heal) I asked, who defines when the injury occured as what has brought me here today was the fact, the pain was now unbearable, I had lost grip in my hand, my arm was colder than the other and I kept losing feeling in that arm altogether on occasion. She still refused me but said she would get a nurse to speak with me, for 'advice'. I was very quickly seen my the nurse, as soon as she opened the door and stormed in, I knew it wouldn't be a great encounter. I was belittled and made to feel ashamed of myself for even going. After explaining fully, I was told that was more 'red flags' for an older injury. After an awful interaction, she did urge me to be seen at another a&e as the loss of grip and circulation could be serious, but they couldn't there as there were no doctors. That was all that was needed to be said, the rest was just pure attitude and I'm extremely annoyed and disappointed. I am currently sat waiting in Rotherham a&e. Thanks for the fantastic service Montagu, I will recommend to everyone in need. (Sarcasm).

Normally have very positive things to say about the Minor Injuries Unit and their staff but yesterday evening my 16 year old Granddaughter came across very rude and unsympathetic staff especially the Sister who assessed and treated her. Would like to add that the receptionist and x-ray staff were friendly and welcoming.

Absolutely great service. Walked in and was assessed within 40 minutes , then sent straight to X-Ray, then half an hour later my problem was diagnosed and I received treatment ! All the staff were lovely especially the practitioner and the nurse who strapped my broken finger up! Best service I’ve had from the NHS in a long time !

Best hospital/walk in centre in South Yorkshire. Staff were really helpful and pleasant and my time there was done very quickly. Nurses and receptionists were organised. Been a while since I've been to a clinic where I've left happy

Best hospital ever! Today was my first ever visit here for Xray. Came and parked my car at 17:49 and left 18:05, I was shocked, because I was expecting to wait few hours, wow, everyone were so nice and polite and service was super quick!
