Very limited shelter. Doesn’t appear to have accessibility to platform 1 (which is the train to London/Leeds). The only saving Grace is that if you can manage the stairs you can get very very cheap return tickets to london (in the past I’ve found tickets for £14 well in advance)

Hi everyone, I do like going to Mirfield train station to Ride on Trains and train spotting with my PA and my dad sometimes during the week.

Mirfield Station
This is a basic station but it has routes to Leeds, Manchester and London. Not much covered area though and no food and drinks facilities. The Coop and Lidl are very close though.

This is not a station, it's a halt. Unmanned, no toilets, no means to cross the lines and no waiting room with a door to escape the bitter cold winter winds. Did I mention that there is no café? And the only ticket machine I could find was on platform 3 and they've just increased the penalty fare.

Small station with good routes. Only stairs to go to the platforms. Don’t get late as the trains only stop for literally a few minutes. However, delays and cancellations are a new norm now.

There is a ticket printing machine on Platform 3 on the South side of the line, but not on the opposite side. No facilities here. Only takes 10mins to get to Huddersfield.

There is little shelter which fills quickly and only one ticket machine which is on platform3, therefore no opportunity for passengers departing on platform 1 to buy before travelling unless prepared to negotiate 29 steps on both sides and a walk which takes several minutes. The station is due to be remodelled within the next few years.
