The Race Centre

We had a stag do here at the weekend. The race centre were extremely accommodating and the experience was thoroughly enjoyed by the whole group.There are so many choices of cars and tracks; there really is something for everyone.I would highly recommend a booking, especially for group events

So impressed by this place, great fun if you like a bit of formula 1 driving gaming. Hard at first if you are not used to formula 1 games but most adults will get used to staying on the track after the 20 mins qualifying race. Kids just seemed to love crashing into each other :-) The driving assist computer game features help you get back on the track pretty well though (without spinning in circles like most F1 games will have you do). I think you can ask for less or more computer help and gears (steering wheel paddles) or no gears, just automatic by default. The car seats are quite snug let's say for most adults, so if you have a wide body then beware. There are 10 cars so really fun to play against your friends on a massive multiplayer race, in race car pods with F1 style steering wheels, pedals and headphones that allow you to hear the engine and road noise, and a pit assistant telling you your position, lap times and whether theres anyone too near or behind you. 20 mins practice/qulifyier, and then 2 x 10 min races with a point system and podium with medels for the best 3 at the end. Was really good fun and a good amount of time to race. We got to choose the track, and it was a 3 quarter version of Donnington, so I assume you can do different ones each time, so definitely want to go again. Free parking included and its amongst all the shops in the centre of the precinct.

Can’t fault the tech here it’s really well put together and the circuits are very immersive. I qualified for a race night and felt pretty pumped about it but couldn’t help but feel it was a bit cliquey..I went to the toilet at the start when everyone was still chatting, I came out and they had started the race without me. I asked if that’s normal practice (sarky yes, but wouldn’t you be annoyed at first race?) I paid £36 for this. No warning saying when they’re going to start or anything.The race night email said about pizza is available to order, I asked if one of the regulars pizza is for all to help themselves to, he told me to order at dominoes with a “get your own” attitude. I thought the email meant food is available to order at the bar, and I was stuck for dinner as a result. The email should have Been a little clearer perhaps?It was a shame about the atmosphere there on race nights but would recommend for group parties as hoc.

What a fantastic experience! The VR driving experience was great fun even if my driving skills were a bit below par. The guys running it were super friendly and very helpful, explaining all the controls and letting me settle in my own time... I never felt rushed and was encouraged to have a break after each session to let the adrenaline subside. I really enjoyed myself and would love to go again in the not too distant future. Brilliant!

Did the Monza experience and really enjoyed it. Loads of races, a really good mix of experience/skill levels which made for loads of fun. Will be coming back!

Not necessarily in the most salubrious of surroundings, yet the Race Centre does what it says on the tin.Accommodating staff, kids pleased and Monza completed.Only issue is that some of the younger racers seemed to have a penchant for just hitting other drivers, which is a tad annoying when on a fast lap.That said, the school holiday pricing made this affordable - and more to the point - they don’t rip you off for drinks. Cans were £1.
