We booked Red Beard Tours as part of our first day in Newcastle Upon Tyne to get an orientation of this amazing city. We met Rob by the ‘Monument’ to start our tour on a wet Monday in February. He gave us an explanation of the tour and the distance we would be walking. Rob’s knowledge of this city is second to none!! He gave us a pretty detailed overview in roughly 2 1/2 hours about the city and as we walked along it was like we were ‘joining the dots’ so to speak…. The tour finished on the High Level Bridge and was worth every single penny. A well worth tour on a visit to the Toon..

As my partner and I recently moved to Newcastle we were gifted this tour, and we both found the tour really great!We were only a small group of 3 people which gave us lots of time to ask questions both about the tour but also living in Newcastle in general.The guide was more than happy to answer all our questions and give more tips and recommendations .. All this on top of given us a great understanding of all the history that Newcastle has to offer.Truly delighted we went on this tour, and highly recommend it!

Rob was an incredibly informative and interesting story teller. He was able to weave very complex and rich narratives together at the stops along the tour, and provided a vivid picture of Newcastle throughout history. He was very generous with his time and knowledge, we would highly recommend coming on one of his tours. But bring your walking shoes!

I cannot rate this tour highly enough. Clear, insightful, full of humour, Rob has clearly researched thoroughly and polished this tour. The route is also designed to be as accessible as possible to avoid hills. Lots of excellent recommendations for food, drink, and activities as well. You'll not be disappointed.

This tour is an excellent introduction to the history of the City of Newcastle. A friendly, informal guide who demonstrated a passionate interest in the history and culture of this historic city. Highly recommended.

Rob delivers a very well researched guided walk around the key points of interest in Newcastle drawing attention to the many architectural gems and interesting facts of local history. The walk is only in fully accessible areas (no steep parts or steps) and is around 2.5 hours in length. I certainly felt that I got good value and it really brought the city to life for me it being my first visit. Highly recommended.

Newcastle has a lot to offer, and this tour is a great way to get your bearings. We were there for 4 days and the tour was our starting point. We got history, pointers for places to visit, and plenty of background information about where we were. Our guide obviously enjoys what he does. He was entertaining and was able to answer our questions as we walked around. Put this tour on the top of your to do list.

Absolutely best walking tour you can find! Rob is a great guide who has the best information, jokes and stories about Newcastle. He was so focused on giving us the best introduction and experience of the city that our tour lasted 30mins longer than expected. Would definitely recommend Rob's tour to anyone who is keen to do a walking tour in Newcastle.
