Great to the No Name back to the top of its game under new management and with a new chef. The Venison Pie was great and my wife really enjoyed her steak. Good beer as ever, and stunning value. Dog friendly of course

Haven't been here since it closed for refurbishment. Used to live closer and went there quite often. Pleased to see it open again. Only popped in for a pint but nice atmosphere still.

Really like this place the staff were friendly and very helpful and the food was delicious. Plenty of seating in side and out, we rang ahead and reserved a table which is worthwhile as it looks like it's popular and can be busy. The Pud seems to attract cyclist and car enthusiasts as some very beautiful vintage car were parked in the car park. The Pud is in the middle of nowhere so walking to it might not be an option. To be honest we only found it because it was recommended to us but I'm glad we did.

A picture perfect pub, in a lovely Hampshire village - surrounded by rolling countryside, ideal for walking. We received a warm welcome from friendly host and staff. The interior is snug and attractively decorated - retaining original features. The stable rooms are very comfortable and well appointed and fairly priced. The wine selection is good and also fairly priced. The breakfast was generous and tasty. My only complaint is towards the quality of the evening meal, which sadly was mediocre and did not meet the general high standards of the rest of our experience. The smoked salmon and beetroot terrine was not a terrine and there was no beetroot on the plate. The leaves were undressed. The Mushroom stroganoff comprised button mushrooms only and white rice that was soggy and over cooked. A variety of mushrooms, some fresh herbs and wild rice would have elevated it. The fish cakes were stodgy and bready and not that pleasant. They were consumed in too much cream sauce. The chef should get some feedback and make adjustments. Aside from this I would definitely recommend this place and go back there if the food went up a few gears - all other aspects are really good and we appreciated the efforts of the staff to give us a good time.

Really great pub been 30 years since was last there. As far as I could tell hadn’t really changed. This is so good to see in the times of so many pubs being completely ruined or turned into houses. Staff were really friendly and good selection of ales

Could there be a more British looking plate of food? Bright welcoming exterior with cosy wooden interiors, this is my ideal tavern. The unique bits of furniture also made it extra homey.Food was delicious, the sunday roast beef was tender, particularly with the onion gravy. Vegetables were bright and fresh, parsnip strips and cauliflower cheese were tasty. Fish and chips was spectacular, great batter, thick chips. Service was so welcoming too! Round it all off with beer and its the perfect sunday. My only wish was that there had been more beef and while they did ask for doneness, it was mostly medium well to well done. Though no less tender!

Absolutely perfect! What else can I say :Our booking for Sunday lunch was at 12:00 for four people. The pub filled very quickly - every single cosy corner!Considering the lack of signage, this idillic country pub still relies on recommendations alone, we can see why !With the pub bursting from one open beam to another, the service was fabulous, friendly and as warm as the open fire !Finally, the food ?Oh my goodness! Just beautiful! This is definitely my new favourite pub and as you are only 5 minutes away, you will be seeing us again !Thank you , Mrs Lulabelle Coombes
