4 starts given for quick passport renewal process at the main counter, however they took longer to process the payment for the application at different counter once everything has been completed (20 minutes waiting and under 1 minute for them to make the payment transaction). They were too busy having conversation with their colleagues. Due to this I had to pay additional parking (£9) fees.FYI: They take away your old passport. So make sure you take a good copy of your expiring passport.Fees; passport renewal £60 + £30 for postage ( approx )Update 21/08/23: passport arrived in 5 working day for normal postage.

Contrary to the massive criticism received by this consulate, my personal experience here was a pleasant one. Depending on how busy it is on the inside, they maybe a short wait outside in a queue before you're called in. Be sure to state the purpose for your visit to the security waiting at the entrance. From the reviews left on here it appears that a lot of people have had issues with the security. Be mindful that they're only human and the job itself requires them to be on their feet for the duration of their shift sometimes in very harsh weather and dealing with all sorts of individuals, some particularly stroppy and entitled. Doesn't sound fun, does it?. Be nice, greet them politely and perhaps it maybe be reciprocated. The security chap at the entrance with the glasses is a top bloke. You get a token as you enter the consulate and you'll be seated in the waiting area to be called when it's your turn. Make sure you aren't dreaming when your token number is called out. The staff on the inside are generally speaking friendly, polite and extremely competent. They also are bilingual( Portuguese/ English) for those individuals who can't speak or aren't fluent in Portuguese. Don't come in with a chip on your shoulder and expect them to speak to you in English. It's good manners to ask if you can communicate in English if you can't speak Portuguese. There was a gentleman who was getting agitated with a member of staff because he couldn't understand English or Portuguese. If this is your case, get a translator, if you're allowed to do so.Overall, this was a positive experience and a massive thank you to all members of staff. Just remember we're all human and we're all dealing with our own battles, so be respectful, bring your documents along to appointments and receipts/collection letters and for document collections and don't forget your manners. Good luck.

Very Unprofessional Security Guard from Prime watch security.-> On arrival, we informed that we are here for B.I collection. He replied with rude words “What” and disgusting face. “Who B.I”Still I laughed and replied please have a look on letter. He start flirting with all girls around us. Including members of staff exiting and entering. He left us aside.-> member of embassy called us from stairs. After finishing of procedure, me and my wife need to talk with members of embassy because we received unexpected letter from embassy.-> security team was very raciest and said to us “you can’t”. He said work is done go away from here with hand gestures.-> I need to bring attention this behaviour to Protugal Ambassador. This type of behaviour is unacceptable in London.->we both are Doctors working for NHS.This behaviour is unacceptable in london.-> I request to take necessary step for security guard. He is black guy with curly hair. Can’t communicate with English with necessary knowledge. He’s posting on 11/September/2023. White guy with him also supported to laugh on us.

The two stars I am giving is for the inline manager who sits by the entrance in the office. He is the only man who understood and helped me when there was an issue with my appointment flamed and fumed By the security guard at the door.Irony is that, the security man in the porch needs to be replaced and should be taught some manners how to speak and treat costumers with respect. It's takes nothing to be patient and listen to the customer addressing his/her query.Threatening to call police over repeating and required clarification" was never an option. The two young employees and manager situated by the entrance are what this place seems good and sound for.Prons to the managerCons to the security especial inside the porch."

I know there's a lot of negatives but I just wanted to say a positive about our experience today. My brother and I came here for the first time to renew our passport and ID card. I would like to thank the two gentleman attendants who served me on number 11&16 and the lady who served my brother on 13 as they were actually kind and seemed to be the few members of staff with the patience to deal with people. The waiting system needs a huge overhaul. Our appointment was at 8:45 and they were already running behind (which was fine for us because we arrived late due to traffic) but I can imagine that would be very inconvenient especially for those with children. Maybe the security outside instead of brushing people to the side could organize people to wait in order of appointments? As it is a shame that it seems to be the only consulate that has people queuing up the street in the rain to get into appointments. Also the way some of the staff (the security inside in particular) spoke to people was absolutely appalling. Regardless of whether or not someone speaks the language they should be treated with respect. The security guard and some of the staff were very condescending to those who didn't speak Portuguese which is quite frankly not acceptable.

Both my passport and ID had expired at the same time and thus I went to renew them at the consulate. The lady who attended me was Ruth and she had taken me through the entire process with ease and effeciency! Her customer service was great! She was really helpful, informative and friendly. An absolute 5 stars for her :)

I had my passport renewal appointment past fews days ago i arrived on time .But to my suprise the security Gaurds who are issuing Tokens was very rude .As if they are the owners. This security Gaurds needs to be trained very well how to treat people on arrival while waiting in queue. This was so ridiculous. Security Gaurds needs basic training

Living in the UK for 20 years, my past experience of the consulate services has been dreadful to say the least. Most recently I have seen a great, and hoping that pivotal, improvement. On my last visit, the service was professional, fast, clear and effective.Well done to all that are contributing to the improvements of the services that Portuguese Nationals need and depend on while living in the UK!
