Kumon Maths & English

Our daughters began their Kumon study for Maths in January and they started English as we went into lockdown.Over the past six months we have seen the significant impact daily study has had on their abilities as learners; they have grown in confidence and their levels of perseverance have really matured as they have learnt from mistakes and can see their speed and accuracy improving over time. They have really enjoyed the great sense of achievement as they have overcome hurdles and achieved improved results again and again.Alison has been very supportive throughout, taking time at the outset to understand what the girls needed, setting out a clear trajectory with us for their progress and carefully monitoring this at each stage.Kumon is supporting us to instil a strong ethos for learning which we are sure will stand them in good stead for their individual learning journeys ahead.

My daughter is 9 years old and she has been doing Kumon for 2 years now!She is very confident in Maths now and is always on top of her class on timestables and everything else!She will sit down and will do her timestables without even thinking.I can not thank Allison enough!She has been very supportive, professional and always helpful!I highly recommend it to everyone!

Having sent all my four kids I cannot emphasise enough how beneficial it has been for them. The best thing I did was enrolling them in early. It is a partnership of commitment, persistence and perseverance between the parents and kids.It gave my children confidence, built structure and regime of doing a piece of work everyday. It proved to them how practice made them better. Now they reap the benefits as they are so much more confident at school. I started my Kumon journey with very little confidence and was below the average target level in Mathematics and English.Alison and her staff at Kumon are very patient, encouraging and take the time to get to know their students. Alison helped me with my confidence, as well as gaining academic knowledge.I finished my school journey confident in my academic ability and having a love for learning. I truly believe that is is because of Kumon. I was able to achieve 12 GCSE's, 3 A levels and go to University completing an undergraduate degree. I am currently a trainee primary school teacher and will become qualified in July.I highly recommend Kumon, not only from a personal opinion but from a teachers point of view too.

I used the Kumon maths programme for both my daughters to supplement and reinforce their understanding of key maths principles. As a secondary maths teacher I am acutely aware of they key concepts that need to be grasped in primary and built upon in secondary school. The Kumon programme delivered these well and gave the added bonus of the discipline of everyday learning to aid long term retention. Both my daughters have thrived through :primary school awards for maths, the Level G certificate in primary for one daughter and admission to the high school we had selected. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and hardworking. I highly recommend Kumon to parents wanting their children to improve their subject knowledge and to develop learning habits that they can use throughout their education journey.

I am so impressed with the progress my grandchildren have made since starting studying the Kumon programme. Having once been 2 years behind in maths at school my grandson is now studying at a level 3 years ahead of his school year and is brimming with confidence. I started Kumon at the age of three and it instantly gave me a head start prior to starting school and it enabled me to discover my love for both Maths and English.Not only did I gain academic knowledge from enrolling in both the Maths and English programmes but also confidence in my abilities and the skills to study effectively independently.The style of learning and the way in which the centre staff aid students ensures you take responsibility in your work and they encourage you to push yourself beyond your comfort zone.The commitment of the staff and Alison is unparalleled. As I have progressed through school and applying to university Alison has continued this support even after I completed my years of study at Kumon.I can confidently say without Kumon I would not have gained my place at Oxford University.

I am glad I made the decision to start the Kumon maths program for my daughter. I started Kumon when I was in year 8 and I had a lot of gaps that needed to filled in English and Maths. Throughout lockdown I continued to do Kumon and saw my consistency increase. Now that I’m in year 10 due to Kumon and Alison and the team’s help I have been able to move up to top set in maths at school and have improved immensely at school throughout all my studies.
