Lovely place for a walk or mountain biking. Has a variety a things to see. We saw hen harriers for the first time. And after a walk or ride you can enjoy some lovely ice cream.

Loads of room. Hard to get to in winter due to ice (it gets really bad). The pay and display is contactless and probably the easiest parking machine I have ever used.

Loved the forest itself and we enjoyed a long walk. However, we felt that the paths and tracks were more geared to cyclists than walkers, and it would be good if more of the walking paths led through the trees. Great that there were toilets but they were in a bit of a state - not very clean and several with no loo paper. The little church is worth a visit.

We absolutely love Gisburn Forest as a family, we go with our bikes and love trying all the different routes and trails, we take the grandchildren and follow the trails with interactive phone boards to find different animals and characters and walk deep into the forrest following the trail and gathering cones and sticks along the way and finding all the animals holes and insects and frogs. We take the dogs and walk for miles off lead on open countryside again through the forrest chasing the wild deer and smells around.Once a year the entire family all meet for a mother's day walk with all the dogs and grandchildren and children and walk through the forrest for hours finding everything from wierd mushrooms to mole holes and rabbit dens followed by a great big family picnic at the cafe while the children play on the play area and in the sand pit while us adults all pick cakes from the cafe. This really is a magical place for everyone of any age and capability with ample parking that you can pay upto 24 hours after your visit online. So pack a picnic, grab the family and go have a fun day out.

Good parking and a nice woodland walks.Be wary of the crazy mountain bike riders. Some of them have zero respect for people walking. Also some of the footpaths have been marked up as mountain bike trails.
