A wonderful, pet friendly, place to go for dinner or for a pint. Very helpful behind the bar, for tourists, and for locals bewildered by the latest beers. Gorgeous garden and fantastic food. I recommend booking if you want to eat, but sometimes they still have tables when food is available. Live music during the festivals and always full of characters.

Had a delicious home made roast followed by pudding. My friend needs dairy free diet which they provided and Jean Brian and Stuart could not be more helpful. Excellent service

Had a terrific Sunday lunch here. Reasonably priced with a choice of 3 roasts with 7 vegetables. Good pudding too. All beautifully cooked on the premises. They do pizza night on Friday and on Sundays do roast dinner from 12.30-4.30.Pleasant interior with split levels to create different areas for people dining. Staff all very welcoming and helpful. We took the dogs and ate in the tiny beer garden at the back although they would have been welcome inside.NB Sunday lunch can be busy so probably best ring and book in advance.

We had a great roast here on Sunday. The beef was beautifully cooked. When it came with one big roast potato I was a bit disappointed but after eating all the other veg, including mash potato, that came with it I couldn't move. Although, there's is always room for dessert, which was delicious too.

For well kept real ale from the barrel and friendly landlord you can't get much better. Hidden from view it is just a few yards east of the square on the A487. An excellent unpretentious locals pub worth seeking out for those who appreciate good beer.

Met some friends in The Globe when I was visiting the area. What a delightful little place. The landlords Jean and Brian were very welcoming hosts and have created a warm, atmospheric place. I’ll be back again!

Just popped in for a drink and had a very warm welcome in this nice old-fashioned style pub. I imagine it would be nice and cosy in the winter.

Waited for 10 minutes to be welcomed or asked what do we want, it seems no one cares for a new customer. Such an unfriendly place.Reply to the owner:If you were not serving why did you allow customer to your restaurant then? And when two stranger came in to your restaurant why didn't you welcome them and simply tell them you are not serving? Why did you let us sit in the middle of the restaurant and waited for 10 minutes while a big group of people were eating on the biggest table behind us? And why there were menus on the table? You are such a bad liar.

Nothing wrong with this pub if you appreciate the fact that it is a pub that serves freshly cooked meals prepared for you the moment you place an order.not to be confused with multi portion, delivered in tin foil placed in the freezer then micro wave it when needed.but I say again the ingredients are freshly sourced by the chef at local markets an retailers then prepared when ordered so a short wait is incured but you can enjoy a fine pint or half.the beverage side of the establishment is a little limited due to the size of pub.having said this it seems to be a hot spot for local nite life with friendly customers telling some very interesting tales.so on the whole the proprietor's jean and brian have worked very hard.faced some tough opposition to acheive an atmosphere that is both warm and friendly wether local or foreign.
