What can I say....Ste is one of the most knowledgeable, informative and honest mechanic/engineer I've ever had the pleasure to deal with.Explains everything in a manner you understand, honest and most importantly extremely trustworthy.So my advice is if you want someone you can trust, you'll find no better than 5speed!!!

I recently took my car to Steve and I have to say he was the most professional, competent and helpful person I have ever dealt with. He diagnosed the problem quickly and thankfully the problem is now fixed with my car. I would highly recommend Steve at 5 Speed if you are looking for someone who really knows their trade. I would definitely use 5 Speed again.

After many years of new cars and Dealer servicing I knew I needed a different kind of garage to look after my Mazda MX5 'fun' car. Steven really knows about cars and he understands how different cars need different approaches. He knows his stuff and a true 'Petrol Head'. After servicing my car he reported a couple of items that needed further attention and I will be returning to get these sorted. Highly recommended.

Whilst visiting friends in Bildworth, I experienced Alternator failure, Being a mechanic myself I belong to a few trade-only groups and foudn that Steve was a regular contributor and very knowledgable, I limped the car over to 5-speed and explained my predicament. Obviously being in the trade I was quite capable of doing the job roadside myself... The problem was tooling! After a 10 min chat i was happy to let them work on my car. this was over a year ago and the car has been faultless (atleast in this area... its a landrover afterall!)... I will have no issues referring anyone to them if they are in the area!

Great service, very knowledgeable staff and honest is a days long if I got £10 under my bonnet and gave it me back. Will definitely be using this garage again, trustworthy and knows his stuff definitely recommend

Steve is an absolute diamond, had to have my car recovered to 5 speed, he opened up specially for me. Felt like my world had ended and Steve instantly put me at ease as to what the problem was.All parts sourced and fitted, good prices. Steve's knowledge is second to none and he definitely wouldn't let you drive off until it was safe and he was happy with it. Steve definitely takes pride in his work and is very thorough, will definitely be back again. Keep up the good work Steve.

I am adding up to my previous review as Google only allows for one review per business.When my car was recently recovered I know exactly where to take it: 5 Speed. Steve confirmed the diagnosis and get it repaired same day saving me so much worry and stress of being without my car! If you looking for honest, trustworthy and reliable mechanic look no further. Steve always takes his time to explain what needs doing which puts me at ease knowing that my car is in best hands. Steve even took his time to do a little experiment to show my curious daughter how the replaced part works in real life. Brilliant service that I am recommending without hesitation - I would give it more stars if I could!*****First time using 5 Speed but will certainly be back for any car needs in a future. Steve is knowledgeable, kind and nothing is too much trouble. Not only repaired the problem but also offered free tutorial on other car maintenance issues. Steve only charged us for a parts. Highly recommended!

Promises the earth, but likes to charge for work not carried out. Avoid.The works involved fitting new coil suspension units supplied by myself to my NC followed by a full alignment.On later inspection I found that on of the drop links had been popped but not replaced, and no alignment had been carried out, this was confirmed when I took the car into another garage and they found that it was still at factory spec.This was all done a few years ago when the business was at their original location on Wigwam Lane, Hucknall.Maybe a subtle change in name, but the owners still the same.Steve’s response would be fine if I had indeed asked and paid for a factory alignment, I had in fact asked for fast road spec.

Honest and fair. Kept in touch during the work being done. Friendly and professional. Will definitely be getting my business in future.
