Hensol Castle Distillery

What a wonderful experience! Had a lovely afternoon with my mother-in-law taking part in the Gin Tour and Tasting.Not only do you learn about the history of gin, you also learn about the history of Hensol Castle.We cannot compliment our tour guide Peter enough. His knowledge and enthusiasm were first class and a credit to this magnificent venue.Definitely recommend doing this experience.

Really enjoyed our Gin Distillery tour. Thought it was very good value for money.We got married in Hensol Castle in 2015; it was nice to see how much it has evolved since.

An impressive new distillery in the basement of the historic Hensol Castle. The visitor experience has been well thought out with everything from the welcome, the waiting area, the graphics and the bar, highend and on point. The tour is 90 minutes and includes the history of gin, cocktails and the castle and ends with a tasting, talk on the distilling process and a G&T in the bar. Good tour in content and value.

A couple of us went for a cocktail making class with a tour of the distillery. The service was brilliant, Peter was my favourite part of the whole day! So kind, accommodating and so knowledgeable! We spent some time going through the history timeline, had opportunities to ask questions and then onto the botanical room. We got to know a lot about the different botanics and how the distilling process works. We ended the day in the bar making our own cocktails with the help of Peter, Andrew & Jess - 2 each of our choice, and we tasted some others they’ve been working on. They also made us an espresso martini which was the best I’ve tasted! All in all, a brilliant day & I’ll definitely be going back for the Gin Making Masterclass!

Today we have taken part in the Gin Tour and Tasting.What a wonderful experience. Not only do you learn about the plethora of botanicals that go into making gin, you also learn about the colourful history of gin, and the history of Hensol Castle.We cannot compliment our tour guide Pip, and the barman Hugo enough. Their enthusiasm and knowledge are world class and a credit to this magnificent venue.

Amazing experience on the gin tour. Interesting from start to finish. Clemmy our tour guide was brilliant. So knowledgable, happy to answer questions, relaid information in such an interesting manner and was really helpful in guiding us through the preparation and making of our gin. Really enjoyed the whole experience and would highly recommend to anyone.

Lovely experience! Highly recommend. My husband and I greatly enjoyed this tour. The hostess (I did not catch her name) was very personable, knowledgeable, both about the history of gin and the history of the castle. Just do it!
