My son took me for Mother's Day lunch! Everything is lovely! Booked for outside meal as the weather is not permitting they were kind enough for us to have the meal inside. Worth every penny that my son spent for the meal.

Had a lovely meal here over the weekend (September 2023) everything we ordered was delicious (table of 4 friends - we sat in the “dog friendly” downstairs area! As one of us bought pup. FYI dog friendly downstairs on the right hand side as you walk in). As you can see from my picture… The food was delicious! Cooked to perfection! Generous portion size! Full of flavour! The chicken was extremely tender (unfortunately, it’s rare to find that when we eat out nowadays!). The service was extremely friendly, and they went above, and beyond to cater for one of our group who had a nut allergy! Highly recommend this place :-) the manager, Alan was very hospitable and we really enjoyed his new cocktail menu.

Exceptional service. Harrison looked after us from the moment we walked in, until we left. He was really caring towards my grandma, making sure she had everything she needed. He could not do enough for us.Beautiful pub, lovely Xmas decorations and fabulous grand Christmas tree.Food was very good and menu was very varied. We did not feel crowded and there were sufficient space between each table. My only suggestion would be for staff to wear masks. I think this would encourage people to visit, particularly the older generation who are more vulnerable.Thank you The Spring Inn for a wonderful Christmas memory.

The Spring Inn is a gastropub located in Reading, Berkshire. It has a large dining area, a bar, and a terrace. The menu features a variety of gastropub classics, as well as some more unusual dishes.I visited The Spring Inn on Bank Holiday Monday evening with family for a 70th. We were seated quickly and given menus. The service was friendly and attentive. Two of us ordered Pepsis, which were both flat. We asked for new ones, as they said they were going to change the gas but these were still both flat, we were then told that they have been having issues with it all week, we were then left with the new flat Pepsi. The food was hit and miss, everyone who had the burger were happy, but my pie was not very nice at all it was supposed to be a steak, ale and potato pie and it was nice to see when it came out that it was a real pie! Pastry bottom and all, the issue was that it and the gravy tasted like it was made with BBQ sauce and it was extremely sweet, I would not recommend the pie at all. The portions were generous. The only downside was that the food took a long time to arrive which was a bit frustrating.Overall, we had a good experience at The Spring Inn. The food was good, and the service was friendly. However, the long wait for our food was a bit of a disappointment. Here are some suggestions for how The Spring Inn could improve their service:Make sure that the Pepsi is always fresh.Train staff to be more efficient in the kitchen.Offer discounts to customers who have to wait for their food or are given multiple flat drinks.I would recommend The Spring Inn to anyone looking for a good meal in Reading. However, I would advise them to be prepared to wait for their food.

Delightfully scrumptious food. There are some classic pub favourites done to an exceptional level. The fresh, local ingredients shine through. To top of the experience the staff are attentive in a way that enhances the experience.

There was a delay in kitchen so food took a while, servers were very proactive about it and provided complimentary drinks. Food is normally amazing but must of been rushed this time.

Came here for a Sunday roast. Bit disappointed really. The cauliflower cheese was quite tasteless and the Yorkshire pudding looked over done and was definitely not home made. The pork roast dinner, was disappointing with the tiny amount of crackling which was dished up. Apart from that, the roasts were ok. The beef burger and chips was average, not worth the price though. We waited 45 minutes for someone to take our order and we waited 1.5 hours until we started eating. We was given a free drink each due to the wait time as they had new staff training in the kitchen. Unfortunately I won’t be rushing back here anytime soon

Nice building and looks promising, but let's itself down. We visited on a Sunday for lunch. The place in general is dirty, the tables sticky. The service, as others have said, is slow, and on arrival they apologised for not having enough menus, so we sat without one for 15 minutes. The roast beef was very rare and very chewy. The pudding was lovely though.

We went there for lunch to meet with just found cousins and the staff were wonderful. They let us stay and chat the afternoon away. They even had my husband taste test their October drink of the month! Wonderful place!
