Contacted them recently to ask about getting rid of a washing machine. I spoke to Lorna who arranged for her driver to collect it free of charge, this was all done within a few hours of me contacting them! Lorna was polite, very professional and gave a great service.. Thank you Lorna

Farthinghoe Recycling and Reuse Centre
Well recycling centres used to be a service paid for with our council tax to dispose or recycle waste responsibly. Whilst farthinghoe recycling centre does encourage re-use through selling things it gets for free… basically the worst car boot sale you can go to full of broken things they don’t offer the most basic disposal of packaging waste like plastic or polystyrene, so we’re no left with the irony of people driving around burning fuel to try to find a place to get rid of the waste. Congratulations Northants council a true net zero approach. Things have gone backwards.

We took a cat tower (used but good) and went to ask an older man where to put it, he asked if it was complete and without even letting me answer he said no I won't be able to sell that and we're not a refuse centre. I tried to explain that it was only in pieces to fit in the car but he had already made his mind up that he couldn't be bothered with that today so that's that. If he doesn't want the job I'm sure there are plenty of people that would make better use of that time paid by for by the public.

Drove for an hour to get here as I couldn't find a local charity shop that would take a used high chair. Got there 7 mins before closing time and they refused to let me in. A staff member was on his way out as I got there, claimed they had to shut early due to staff shortage, but that seems unlikely as it was only 7 mins early.

LOVE this place! It’s my go to for finding furniture to upcycle and reupholster! In fact half of my house is furnished with finds from this treasure trove of a place. Staff are super friendly and helpful too..

I lived in a hostel and got my permanent place. Couldn't believe the bargains I found and how helpful all the people were in helping me source things, even things that I didn't know I needed. This place is amazing!!! And the manager is absolutely lovely, the effort she put in is above and beyond. Thank you once again.
