Connaught Water Car Park

A hidden gem, after all the years camping in Epping Forrest as a teenager I had never come across this lake. What a beautiful spot for family and walking the dog. Such a vast space to adventure. With so much free parking I forgot I was in England. Like the good old days. I just hope some greedy f****r don't come along and stick a pay and display box in there. Great for all to enjoy.

Beautiful, peaceful and surrounded by trees and plants. Great for picnics, strolls and wanders, with plenty of quiet spots to be away from everyone else, if you prefer. The area is well maintained and clean.The car park is small and can get busy but it's right near the pond and is suitable for those with limited mobility. There are also a couple of designated disabled parking bays.

Very scenic little lake.Great for a stroll, and walking your dog(s)! We take ours here often, as he loves to meet and play with other dogs.Although, if you're an owner that doesn't like your dog to socialise and play with other like - minded mutts, then I'd say go elsewhere!

Connaught water was a very relaxing peaceful walk that's great for dogs and kids also. I am disabled and it was very easy path for wheelchair or scooter. Just the odd puddles on main pathway. Highly reccomend.

I've been going here for 20 years ,used to go to chill out & for a bit of reflection on life. Very relaxing ,you have to walk all the way around as there is a lovely elevated decking area at the bottom. I now go with my kids to feed the birds, we collect some mixed wild bird seed from the pet shop ,the geese are very friendly. The kids love putting on their wellies and splashing in the shallows. Then weather permitting we grab an ice cream.

A simply wonderful place to visit. An easy 1 km circular route around the lake is ideal for pushchairs, wheelchairs and kiddies' bikes. There is an abundance of wild birdlife and numerous forest paths for the more fit and adventurous

Very tranquil, yet full of life.If you are looking to get back to nature, be it for a short walk around the waters, or to get lost in the forest, this is a great place to start.Plenty of paths to follow, should you not be wanting to go full explorer mode, however lots of less beaten tracks to take at most instances.If you’re planning to go “hands free” and not take your gps/mobile device with you, there are sign posts scattered about around the waters, but if you’re planning to go into the forest, they become less so.I’d suggest keep a map available as you can end up wandering miles away (literally)!This is a spot with people relaxing on a bench, kids on bikes, dogs running wild, slow walks, long runs, or simply being at one with nature. This is one of the few places in central where you may even get a benevolent smile from a stranger!Quite a few people here at the weekend, however if you walk for 10 mins into the woods you will find yourself a quiet spot, if that’s what you are after.Car parking can be tight if you come mid day at the weekend. You may have to part further up / outside the car park.Overall great experience, I’ll be back here shortly.

Beautiful place and a great place for a walk. There are swans, geese, coots and ducks and a few people walking their dogs. It's beautiful on a summer evening.
