Ariel allowed us to really listen to the instruments in the open, neutral acoustics of the shop, without any pressure and without colouring our judgment by mentioning price or other details of each instrument. We then borrowed the selected instrument to make sure it was right before committing to the purchase. Overall a highly recommended Luthier.

I am not a musician so I probably have a different kind of a mind set compared to most of the people reading this. I was looking for a new violin for my wife, who is a professional violinist. I started looking into MyLuthier partly because I thought I could get a higher quality instrument for same or less money from Europe compared to where I live (New York City), but mostly because it has an informative website with transparent prices.Honestly, I wasn’t 100% confident with the whole process of shipping and paying internationally in the beginning. But after having a video meeting (plus a lot of e-mails back and forth) with Ariel, who explained the whole process extremely well, I decided that it was worth a try. MyLuthier actually has everything set up for paying and shipping in the United States, which was also helpful.First violin that we tried, my wife wasn’t 100% happy with. We decided to return it, which I thought was going to be a huge headache. But actually, it turned out to be quite smooth. A few months later, another promising violin became available made by Mr. Edgar Russ. After talking about it, Ariel shipped it to us very quickly. It took about a week to arrive (and Ariel was very helpful with getting the instrument cleared through customs). And the violin was absolutely amazing. My wife is in love with her new instrument and cannot believe that we got an instrument of this caliber at the price we paid.This is probably not how most violinists buy their instruments (from what my wife tells me, they go through tens if not hundreds of instruments from various shops for months to find the “right” one), and maybe we got lucky finding one only in our second attempt. With that said, I believe a lot of this has to do with Ariel and MyLuthier pre-selecting all the instruments after trying themselves, and only the best ones make it to their shop for their customers to choose from. This is especially helpful for those who cannot afford to spend the time doing their legwork themselves or (like us) if you live too far away from the store.Also, some of the instruments you buy from MyLuthier come with a trade-in guarantee, where you can upgrade your instrument for another one and only pay for the difference. Try to consign your instrument at a local violin shop, and you will realize how nice this is. I don’t know if we will ever trade in this particular violin, since it’s so good already, but definitely a nice option to have in case something better shows up down the road.Overall, our violin purchasing experience could not have been any better, and we will definitely work with Ariel and MyLuthier again if we are in the market for more instruments in the future. I am so pleased with the rehairing of my violin bow. It looked and felt brand new and made such a wonderful sound. I had my bow return via post and it was packaged securely via first class post. As a Violinist studying for my Bachelor’s Degree at Guildhall, I was offered the opportunity to have a complimentary session with Stojan from Thomastik-Infeld, to explore what strings would best suit and show off my Italian Violin, a 1932 Giovanni Gaida. I felt very respected and well listened to in my opinions, and the transformation of sound in my violin was truly unbelievable-it feels almost like an entirely new instrument with a more expansive colour palette!MyLuthier’s space also feels very warm and inviting, and the staff are all very friendly. Will absolutely be returning for future instrumental maintenance!

I needed an extra cello and was able to find exactly what I needed with MyLuthier.The web site is great and the shop is easily accessible from Liverpool street station.I was very impressed by the quality of service, instrument selection, pricing and professionalism.Ariel and Pedro are very dedicated and have a great web presence with videos and good audio examples of the instruments. - And willing to answer any question I had.In my opinion they represent modern string instrument makers in the best possible way. I came in an emergency to fix the fallen sound post in the violin. I received a very warm welcome. The MYLUTHIER team is very knowledgeable and highly skilled. Good customer care. I went there with my friend for his violin need adjustment with the bridge (Violin part). He is happy with the service. My friend paid 75 pound for the service. I don't know if it is overpriced or underpriced as I am not aware of musical instrument price and their repairment cost. We are happy with the service and appreciate whoever in that shop that day. I assume it's owner he is so good, communicate well

I'm a complete beginner and Ariel was wonderful helping me string and tune my first violin for no charge, and then again after I snapped my E string. Very reasonable price for a new string too! Will definitely be staying in touch

The quest to find my first professional quality cello spanned the first half of 2022. It ended when I met Ariel and Pedro, founders of MyLuthier, in central London, 11 a.m. Monday morning, July 11th.In the preceding months I had experiences with many of the luthiers in NYC while looking for a cello. Including the maker of one of the cellos I would eventually try at MyLuthier. All interesting, learning experiences.The MyLuthier experience was uniquely positive, in all possible ways. Ariel and Pedro were professional and incredibly helpful in every interaction. I love their mission and would recommend them to anyone looking to find a beautiful instrument, that they can love, for an attainable price.I found a beautiful cello, made by Davide Pizzolato at MyLuthier. My family and I hope to make a trip to Cremona next year to meet him, with introductions by Ariel and Pedro. I find it so refreshing to experience a business that embodies its principles and whose founders are so warm and enjoyable to work with. And I am beyond happy with my cello.

By far the most comprehensive collection of new instruments. They represent some of the best makers you can find!I enjoyed working with Pedro and Ariel and they helped me find my dream violin. I will definitely be back for a bow soon!
