Helford River Sailing Club

The food here was fabulous. We went for lunch and it was so good we went back in the evening. It was the last day of our holiday so the only opportunity we had to enjoy it again for a while! The chef was great and we were lucky he had the time to shared his cooking techniques with us.

Super Sunday lunch! It would have got 5 stars if the gravy had been a little bit thicker. Personal preference I like a gravy to have a bit more body than a jus. Otherwise excellent. Will be going back.

Visited last week end hoping to have meal at club but timed it wrong , we tied our dinghy on the end of jetty with other visitors dinghy , not alongside ,as no meal available we went for a walk on returning we were met by a most obnoxious couple who met us with “can’t you read” and insulted us and even attempted to push me in the brink for being in the wrong place they even boxed us in and prevented us from departing and left my partner in tears, didn’t get his name or his cruiser which was berthed alongside only noticed it was Southampton registered.He must be a club member and the commodore must know who he is, needlessly to say I will not be patronising the clubhouse in future as I have done several times.and would very much like to receive an explanation and an apology for their behaviour, would also suggest the cctv is checked for proof of their behaviour.

Great food and an amazing atmosphere

Completely brilliant. Friendly to visiting sailers with a superb bar, great food and welcome showers.

Fantastic food, amazing view and lots of fun. Just been taken over by new stewards who are doing a great job. Looking forward to eating there again. Sunday roast can't be missed.

Arrived in our own boat and welcomed by staff in the beautiful clubhouse. A short tour of the village perched on the edge of a creek leading to the Helford itself took us past the village shop, stone cottages and a turnaround at the iconic Shipwright Arms Pub, which looked like a call to book ahead would've been prudent. We retreated to the deck of the clubhouse and had a nice glass of white wine in the sun on the deck.

My family and I went to the yacht club for dinner over Easter and we had a lovely evening. We had steak, fish and lamb and each dish was beautifully presented, cooked perfectly and delicious. I would highly recommend.

If you fancy messing about on the water this is the place! Welcoming visitors to try their hand at sailing the club boats Saturdays all through the season and then relax on the balcony of the August Rock bar with stunning views of the river whilst enjoying a cool drink.
