Rented through Richardsons for almost 12 years and would very much not recommend it to anyone else. Always on the landlord’s side, uncaring, disinterested and, most shockingly, gave us misleading advice when we ended our tenancy. They wanted to take our whole deposit (and more) and a director of the company told us that he would liaise with ‘an independent arbitrator’ on our behalf to reach a fair conclusion. Thankfully, we had information about the tenancy deposit scheme, so were able to put our side of the story across, versus what the landlord and Richardsons said, and they threw out the most outrageous claims. They tried to charge us for cleaning cheap thin carpets (with no underlay) that were old when we moved in 12 years earlier! And that was even after one of their employees told us that after 10 years carpet and vinyl should be replaced, so not to worry about cleaning it! We’re unsure if the director in question was deliberately misleading us about the TDS, or simply doesn’t understand the process. Either way, it’s a red flag. Do not, for one second, ever think that a letting agent is on the tenant’s side. I expect a reply to this comment, defending their position, but honestly they should be ashamed of themselves for the way they handled our tenancy.

I am using this company for land agent purposes to help with an ongoing land project. When using the landline I found the staff extremely efficient and helpful and they always followed problems up. The expertise provided was extremely useful in bringing the promotional agreement to a satisfactory conclusion.

Nialls Guinness from Richardsons Surveyors recently sold our bungalow for us. From start to finish he kept an eye on the process and followed up on any issue when required. He handled all viewings and appointments and always kept us informed of feedback and responses. All this as well as achieving a fair price in the current market.
