The Best of Britain

I recently bought a copy of their Norfolk and Suffolk book, the company were doing a buy one get one free which seemed too good an offer to miss.The books are very well presented and good quality, the pictures are lovely and each destination has just the right amount of information written about it, the pictures take centre stage.This particular book is broken up into three sections for each county, places to visit, then pubs and finally places to eat.Ive just come back from a week in Norfolk ( the primary reason for the purchase ) and the book helped me plan a day out that included a visit to an old windmill, then on to a lighthouse followed by a boat trip to see some seals that my children will cherish forever.The free copy was most gratefully received by my sister who also used it on a recent trip to Suffolk.

As with rest of 'the best of guides' this is a lovely quality thick A5 size book with beautiful photography and great write ups on some gorgeous looking pubs. Some I know, many yet to explore. I've bought a couple of copies as gifts and of course kept one for myself to check out refreshment stops before exploring anywhere new. It is divided into regions and does jump around a little between counties but it's a book to enjoy browsing rather than a travel guide so not such a big problem, though a future edition would be great with a location map at the front of each section.

This is an A5 book reviewing 200 English pubs. They are all independently reviewed and added without inducement from the pub itself, unlike other pub guides this one is truly impartial. There a good clear pictures and concise information. This is of a similar standard to other guides by this publisher. I own the Hampshire and IOW guide which is also full of interesting information.

Bought both the Best of Sussex and the Best of Kent guides. Fantastic compendium of places to visit. I bought them as presents for my parents but have been borrowing them myself!

Lovely guide, glossy and expensive looking. Looks great on my coffee table! Lots of new ideas for places to visit and the photograph pages are stunning. Good value for money for a quality product.

I love the new Best in Sussex book! It is a beautiful publication, with stunning photography, and a truly brilliant way of promoting our lovely Sussex places to visit. The look and feel of the book is simply perfect.We are so lucky to live in this vibrant part of the world with so many wonderful independent businesses setting up such lovely shops, cafes and restaurants. Long may they remain! This book is a great guide to finding them all.It will be staying firmly in my handbag at all times and I look forward to ticking off new places that I have not yet been to, as well as revisiting others that the book has reminded me about.

Beautiful little book that will easily fit inside your handbag. Full of lovely cafes, restaurants, pubs and attractions, this guide makes me want to go to the Lake District NOW!!!!!

I bought this book as a Christmas present for a couple of family members, I liked it so much, I kept one for myself! Very handy book on a day off to plan a trip out. We have even used stickers to mark where we have been and whether we liked it. It will take us some time but we want to try and get through it! Lovely idea, beautiful pictures and honest reviews. My only suggestion would be in the map at the back could be slightly more detailed and maybe colour coded to show what are eateries and what are sights so planning a day out is easier to identify what is in the area.

Bought 2 books as a Christmas gift as she loves the Cotswolds and we both love Cornwall. She absolutely loved the gift and when I received the delivery to my surprise they had included a third book with a sticker on it saying 'a gift from us' which was a wonderful unexpected surprise!I hope they spread the company to the whole of the UK as we're planning a trip to Scotland and one of these would be very useful!
