Brilliant place for young and old. Free to enter. There are lots of walks for all abilities and paths are good from prams and wheelchairs. Dog friendly with a doggy tea shop and lots of human ones to. Worth a visit

Really nice place to visit. The trails make for a lovely walk. They don’t take as long as they suggest unless you walk at a slow pace. On any trail you pick, you also end up at the famous Major Oak. Definitely worth a visit.

Long time since I last visited, so I was surprised to see the changes. Gone is the little Cafè and the various small exhibitions, every thing now seems to be in one building which as also moved to opposite the Edwinstowe Arts and Crafts ctr. In my own opinion I prefered the old centre. We went in cafe, prices are on the steep side two bacon rolls one tea and one coffee £14.00. Will be taking our own food and drink next time. Just be aware if it's a festival date when you visit you could be hit with a £10 parking charge (like us today)

Visited here for the 1st time for the Robin Hood festival.Action-packed day out with loads to see, do, and experience all day!£8 to park your car across the road all day... absolute bargain! The staff were amazing, friendly and helpful! There are many shops to buy bits and bobs from, food outlets also. The forest walks are brilliant and signposted along the way.. but check out the pamphlets they explain everything there is to do.Took my kids here and watched the robin hood tournament which was fantastic! Overall a top day out!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The actual entrances or ways onto the actual forest are not clear, which meant taking my route through the visitor centre. I couldn't even see if I needed to pay an entrance fee.The trails labelled but the aign showing where they lead to aren't plentiful enough so you can't remember which one goes where. There was some interesting facts about the nature of the forest itself along the routes. There's no nice places to stop and spread put your picnic. It just feels like a small section of forest that has been saved from being built on and there's no nice grassy bits. It actually felt a little manufactured.Since last time I visited, 20 years ago, a new carpark has appeared across the road, £5 parking only option which is ludicrous as we only wanted an hour on our journey home from our holiday. Won't return.

Lovely walks, staff who greeted you were so friendly and helpful. Walk into the shop to be greeted with a cheery hello and a smile. Lovely walk through the forest. The only teeny prob was in the cafe. The service was so slow and like they had no idea of the importance of serving the customers quickly. It was really empty when we went but I had to wait at least 5 mins to pay for my drinks. Hate to think what it would be like when busy. Nearly gave up and walked out. But, other than that it was a lovely visit.

Spacious, clean, well laid out and plenty of information. Spent a lovely day walking around the forest, visiting the independent shops and watching the activities.

This review is for the visitors centre only.Best nearest car park -NG21 9QB.There's a cafe, and toilets.Upstairs you have a gift shop, with some informational local area bits and bobs..You cannot miss the building, its large, and it's the perfect place to start your walks from.Boards are on the outside that show what walks you can do, and how far they are.The centre itself is helpful, although a little pricey, especially in the shop. Also it's so busy at times I found I was pushing past people, and not enough tables for the cafe.Maybe some more outside would really help...
