Gorsedd Stones
An interesting site in a largely hidden spot. Although ancient stone circles can be found across the hills and valleys of South Wales, this is a rather more modern addition, dating back to the Eisteddfod which was held in the adjacent Margam Park in 2003.Sadly the stones are looking quite neglected, covered in weeds and brambles. The stones are accessible by a gates either end of the field, but you're probably best using the gate at the furthest end, closest to M4 motorway.

Each stone structure is arranged in a circular formation typically consisting of twelve stone pillars, sometimes from the local area and sometimes, the stones have been brought in to represent the Welsh counties, such as at Aberystwyth. A large, flat-topped stone, known as the Logan Stone, lies at the centre of the circle and serves as a platform. The stones can be found as commemorative structures throughout Wales and are the hallmark of the National Eisteddfod having visited a community. This place really needs a good clean up, you couldn't even see the central stone, whoever looks after this should really do something, the field was full of white flowers which looked good, just a shame about the circle.Theres some really nice walks around this area, small free car park just up the road.

Very close to the m4, is worth the visit. The road is not too loud. Amazing when the bluebells are out

A lovely area when the Bluebells are in bloom. The stones aren't ancient but a modern Eisteddfod marker. The Abbey and woodland are. Enjoy

Beautiful stones but needs someone to clear the weeds and brambles around them. This site should be better looked after!

Stumbled upon the stone circle while walking the dog in the adjacent wood. Nice area for a walk with several points of interest.
