Unfortunately, I haven’t had the best experience with Polish. I was sold a deal where you bulk buy 60 minutes for their sunbeds. I bought it in person at the salon, where they took payment and created a card (pen and paper, not digital) to track my usage. I asked to take the card with me and they advised it was better to leave it in the shop so they could easily deduct the minutes for me and it wouldn’t go missing that way. I remember being a little bothered by that at the time as you have nothing physical or tangible to show that you have a remaining balance. To be fair, they didn’t force that, but they did strongly recommend it so, of course, you feel inclined to agree.I wasn’t given anything in writing, (no guidance, no Ts&Cs, no copy of my balance etc) and I wasn’t told anything about an expiry date.The first peeve was that not too long after I bought the package, the salon stopped opening at weekends which made it really difficult to use your minutes if you work full time as they are closed several days a week and don’t open much past 6 most evenings. I personally do work full time and also live half an hour away. That in itself was annoying after I had been sold a pre-paid package that almost immediately became difficult to use.Second peeve, I went in today to use the beds and was told my card had now expired and been thrown away, even though it still had a third of its balance remaining. Noone had contacted me about this prior, and no-one had ever communicated that it had an expiry at all.I told them that I wasn’t happy that firstly, this had been thrown away without any communication to tell me it was going to expire, and also that I wasn’t told about expiry in the first place.They said they communicate it by sharing posts on their Facebook page. In my honest opinion, social media posts are not a reliable or robust way to communicate something as important as terms and conditions, and you absolutely cannot guarantee someone will see a Facebook post. Something like this should be clearly communicated at the point of purchase.I think this is really poor service. Such a shame because I had previously liked the salon and would have returned as a regular customer, but now after this I wouldn’t go back as it’s been really upsetting.I would be really careful before buying any ongoing services from Polish. They were friendly enough at first, but aren’t managing their business processes in a reliable way and it has ended up costing me as a customer. Really really poor experience all in all.
