Monday evening visit, so not the busiest. The food was lovely, we went for the cheaper banquet. Head of house was friendly ands attentive. Young girl serving our take was too keen to clear the plates, still chewing when we asked her to wait 5 minutes on more than 1 occasion. Overall we enjoyed it & would recommend.

Had the most amazing meal whilst here visiting Edinburgh. Hands down some of the tastiest Chinese food I’ve ever had! Great location, interior & staff. Can’t wait to come back and work my way through the menu!

Amazing Chinese food with a large variety. Everything tasted amazing and wasn’t too salty nor lacking in flavour.Egg tarts were nice and warm when served.

Top-notch hospitality! Authentic Chinese food! The egg tarts were to die-for. Definitely a hidden gem in the middle of Edinburgh. A must try for those missing Cantonese cuisine!

Dim sum tasted like frozen food. The pork short rib tasted rancid. Yuk! The roasted duck and pork belly were good. But cumin flavour wasn’t traditionally in the dish. Very odd.

Great place to go if you are craving authentic Chinese food in Edinburgh! It seemed like 80% of the clientele were local Chinese families. The sea bass house special was delicious, just be careful of the bones.

The hand pull chicken on chef special menu is a must. Crispy skin pork is amazing. Better than any Chinese restaurant you can have in the US. Very authentic. Beyond description. Highly recommended.

We had meal in the emperor with my friends, the food was amazing and authentic , especially the spicy chicken dish, taste oriental! and really comfortable environment, friendly staffs, I will highly recommend to all my friends to eat ,we will be back again!

I usually avoid eating Chinese food when I am overseas but this homely restaurant is helmed by a Hong Kong Chef for many years. Trusted a local’s recommendation and tried it. Dim sum was good. Main courses too. Came back again for simple dinner.
