Susie Smith Lettings

Generally my experience of Susie Smith Lettings has been quite poor. Initially, wasn't given access to my utility cupboards, so for the first two months of my tenancy, I was unable to give meter readings. On top of that, when it came to installing WiFi and fixing fibre optic wires that they had already put in before my tenancy, they were so increasingly evasive that I gave up six months after moving in. They were unable to sort multiple instances of other tenants overfilling bins, and then failed to provide any further bins (which is the logical answer to overfilling). Their staff, to be fair, has been a mixed bag (when you can actually get a hold of them), sometimes they're happy to help, but others you'll barely be able to get hold of them, or they'll clearly get fed up and start getting quite short with you. For the price I was paying per month, the lack of assistance and the level of negligence was outstanding.

Selective, not answering to queries, not prompt, evasive, stalling. They had/have the most properties in the areas I was interested, I was pressured by time, the help and the involvement I needed they were lacking completely. I am disappointed...

In my experience the agents have been fair and reasonable. Understanding and empathetic. I was a tenant (Abigail) but if I were to become a landlord SML would be the first agency I would think about in terms of using services.Letting agents get a bad rep sometimes but I can’t fault Lesley at all. Replied quickly, understood my situation, realised the solution was beneficial for both parties etc. Wish her the best of luck.

By far the nicest Lettings Agency I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with in York. Susie is absolutely lovely and very helpful, she was the only agent to give us extensive detail in defense of a couple living under the new HMO guidelines for a shared habitation. She even took time after our call, of her own will to find further details to refer to us in a voicemail!Though the agency does not have as many listings as others in York, I encourage anybody to get in touch with Susie & co.

Simply the best Letting Agent around. Susie and the team always go above and beyond to make sure their clients and tenants are happy, every time we've needed help with the house it's been quickly and effectively sorted. We will never use anyone else!
