The Minster Arms
Our stay at Minster Arms was very disappointing. Staff seemed immature and untrained. There were other guests smoking weed in their room which made the corridors smell. The room itself in the attic was dark and dinghy. The pictures on the website are not a true reflection of the rooms in reality. There was stains on many pieces of the furniture, broken toilet seat, layers of dust on bedside lamps, no toilet paper, no hot water in the morning and sticky, tired flooring. I really didn’t want to stay once we had seen the room but I also didn’t want to let our family down who we had travelled a long distance to visit. At £160 for the night, we expected so much better. We vacated asap the next morning and avoided breakfast. The staff didn’t seem to care when we complained and we’ve since spoken to manager and he equally didn’t seem to care and offered nothing in terms of compensation or an apology.

We really didn’t have a great experience at this hotel. Admittedly, the location is brilliant for getting into Wimborne (less than 5 mins) but everything else was and continues to be pretty disappointing.Main issues of note were:1. When we tried to check in, we were ignored for 15 mins at the bar before we were directed to our room. The room was locked and so we couldn’t get in and then they didn’t have a key for us to use as a previous guest had taken it with them. So, once let in, we were expected to leave our belongings in there unlocked.2. The toilet flush didn’t work3. We accidentally left some belongings behind on check out which we immediately alerted the pub about. It took 24 hours of chasing to get someone to look for them, only to be told that nothing had been found. We then received a call back later to say that the room had been cleaned (a day later) and that they did, in fact, have our items. It’s been 6 days since we checked out and I am unable to contact anyone to arrange for the items to be sent back to me despite my best efforts. No one answers the phone or replies to emails. It’s been appalling.

Bar and food were good. Hotel was poor, issues with accessing the hotel after hours meant waiting outside for long periods to be let back in. Cold water in showers and no cooled breakfasts - very over priced!

An amazing experience. I haven't had such delicious food for a long time. Worth every quid, you could tell for the service we got it wasn't expensive. I see that the Minster Arms seems to have undergone a kitchen makeover. The chef did a great job. You could feel it was fresh. The lamb was juicy perfectly cooked just the way I like it! Amazing meat, the prawns thanks to the chilli Butter were equally delicious . There is definitely no pub in the area with such good and fresh food. Highly. recommend to anyone! We will definitely come back here with friends ❤️

Gave this pub a second chance and glad we did. Compliments to the chef for the amazing meal we had. You could clearly tell that changes have been made in the positive direction. The lamb we had was really delicious and better than other places we’ve tried in the area. Highly recommend and will come again for sure.

Had a really beautiful Sunday roast here today. Atmosphere and interior of the pub was beautiful, food quality was great and service top notch! I've lived in Wimborne for 4 years and this was my first visit, we will be back!

We booked for 4pm online for my birthday dinner. We have eaten here before when the American guy and his partner managed it. The food then was delicious and they had a very good choice. I got call to say if we wanted a Sunday roast could we be there for 3:30 we actually arrive at 3:15. We were given a table in a room to the side of the dinning hall. We waited a while so went to the bar to order drinks. The restaurant by this point have started to empty. After another long wait the waitress came past the door way and realised we had no menus. We was disappointed to see the menu was very limited with only one starter. We placed our orders. After a while we waited for someone to come for another drinks order No one came so I went out to the bar and was told if we move into the now empty restaurant we would get better service. Really I said or you could just come take our order? Ridiculous there was one table of 3 in the restaurant at this point. Eventually the waitress took our order then the barman brought our drinks. At this point we had been there for just over an hour. Then our mains started coming out. I point out that we had ordered starters too. She replied your getting it all together as the kitchen is closing. At this point I said that is not acceptable. She walked out with our meals. My husband went out after her asked her to bring the food and the manager. I went out as she started shouting at my husband. At this point we left. Thankfully the Olive branch save my birthday.

Absolute shambles. I unfortunately stayed here six weeks ago. The room was filthy the breakfast was a joke and the staff if you we’re lucky enough to find them didn’t want to know.I have sent numerous emails to both the pub and their head office. It seems their customer service is as bad as the pub.

Spent 3 nights here this weekend. Been here before and Hannah has made amazing improvements despite her having been here only 3 weeks. Her attention to detail is outstanding. Breakfast is faultless. My only issue would be hanging space for clothes in your room. Not a major issue though.
