Great venue for live music. Very expensive drinks, but that's typical London. I went to an event promoting young rock musicians from around the world

I booked because I wanted my birthday to be special. We arrived at the door and we were told that the event will start an hour and a half later than stated on the ticket. I asked for some sort of compensation and we got 6 shots even though there were 9 of us. We had no service at all throughout the whole night and we asked for mixers (juices and coke) and the host arrived an hour later with a few cans of red bull asking us to pay for it. I gave a chance to this place but was extremely disappointed and I Don't recommend it if you expect the minimum service you pay for.

Brilliant live music venue in the centre of London. Modern, has a few chairs and tables around the outside. Great bar. The sound was brilliant the night I visited for a gig.

Saw Pop Will Eat Itself here recently and really liked the size, shape, and location. Will keep an eye out for more gifts here. Also, the pre gig info and email was really good, rare to see a venue make an effort in that way.

Good venue, nice high stage but the sound is slightly odd to me...FOH speakers really quite far apart but not bad.

The 200-capacity space at 229 was perfect for hosting an amazing student Halloween party. The staff was lovely, the sound quality was great, and the central location was perfect.

Great night, great bands, definitely a convert to the Ryders and the Autumn Saints. The only issue is the outrageous drinks' prices. If the 100 can get it right why can't the 229? £7.20 for a bottle of Doom is frankly ridiculous and a rip off. PS There are two rooms/stages, one, the one I've reviewed, is a large hall with the stage at about five to six feet high; the other is a much smaller room with the stage a foot or so high. Both have their own bars. - Now no Dom Bar available even at the rip off prices. Great sets from Squire and Secret Affair.

The place is OK but doesn't strike me as a good venue. There isn't a cloakroom which meant my jacket sitting on the floor and the beer was served in plastic containers. Poor choice of beer but given the venue's audience it was probably adequate
