Ed's Easy Diner

I was really disappointed with my visit to Ed’s Diner at the Swindon Outlet Center. There was a complete lack of staff and this really showed considering they were really busy and rushed off their feet. The service was incredibly slow and I felt we had been a bit neglected because although it was table service it certainly didn’t feel like it was. We were seated at a table after about 5 minutes of waiting in the queue outside. We were seated at a wet table and given 2 adult menus and one junior menu however we were not offered an activity sheet for the child. We ordered our food and drinks and there was a short wait before the drinks came. We ordered a Tango Free (Free soda refills) a child’s apple juice from the Junior Menu and a Straight-Up Dairy Free Vanilla Shake. For food we ordered a portion of the Chicken Tenders from the Appetisers section of the menu, the BBQ Chicken Bacon Stack and the Hot Dog from the Junior menu with fries. Our food came out not long after the drinks did and when the food arrived and we were given our cutlery (which wasn’t already on the table nor bought out before the food) I ordered another Tango Free. My partner had no issues with the Chicken Tenders that he ordered but the fries from both my meal (BBQ Chicken Bacon Stack) and the kids meal were cold. As well as the chips being cold the chicken, bacon and onion rings were all just a warm temperature - nothing was hot which was disappointing. The bacon on my BBQ Chicken Bacon Stack was burnt in places (I like my bacon crispy but this was beyond crispy) and the onion rings were greasy. The Mac & Cheese was absoluty vile and a poor attempt of a very easy dish. My partner loves Mac and Cheese normally but when he tried my side of it he actually spat it out it was that bad. Overall I was really disappointed with my meal and by the time I had finished I still hadn’t received my Tango Free. I did eventually receive my refilled drink but only after I had actually finished eating. We spoke to one of the staff members about our experience and they did take my drink off the bill and give me 50% off the meal I had which was nice of them but I probably wouldn’t end up going back.

Lovely place, friendly staff and great food. Really enjoy it.Had breakfast where there was lots to choose from at a good price. I recommend the thick shakes!Background music was fun and enjoyable.

A great slice of American pie. Well decorated and a great imitation and feel of an American Diner. The food is perfect comfort food and extremely filling if you order with your eyes. Staff is friendly, happy and professional. A good place to get a bite to eat... And free refills. But as Ed says No eats

The furniture and the look of the place is good enough. Have an authentic feeling, but the food we had today wasn't the greatest. The burger was a bit dry and lack of taste, and cold cola was served in a warm (hot) glass. The amount of the food is very satisfactory. Definitely won't be hungry after eating there.

I like the look of the place. Feel like I'm an extra in 'Happy Days' but they appeared to be short staffed as we had to wait a while to be seated and it wasn't particularly busy for a Saturday. I could see my food was ready and it took a while for someone to collect it and bring it to us. I was very close to getting it myself. The food was ok but the waffle fries tasted of nothing and had the texture of plastic. I won't be going back

The food was nice but it was nothing special, I thought it was just your average burger and chips.

Nice place to eat , staff all friendly, good choice of food and drink . Had to wait for a table to become available but definitely worth the wait . Will definitely be back

I had a disappointing meal here. My partners meal was burnt and the child's meal came out cold. My milkshake was decent and tasted great. The service was slow, the restaurant was busy but there also seemed to be no organisation between the staff. No one came over to the table to ask if the meal was okay. My partner had a free refill soda but when asked for a new one it took so long that the served her meal and she had ate most of it before coming out. We spoke to the manager about the service and they made the excuse that it was busy and gave us 50% off the bill.

Went for breakfast. Had the chicken and waffles, lovely - kept me full all day.

It was a nice service there. Normal portions and really nice food. I can recommend if you want to taste something different, something sort of America. We liked the place anyway.
