Excellent food provided by a warm and welcoming host, we ordered turkey dinner with mash, jacket potatoes, coffee, how chocolate and everything was pretty awesome! Will be back again should I come back to the area!

Impromptu stop for a breakfast. This was nearest, next time it will definitely be a deliberate choice. A beautiful full English for both of us. The friendly young lady even topped our teapot up. This belly buster of a brekky had 10 items, cooked like a perfect breakfast should be. It certainly set us up for the day and we can't wait to return.

The best full English breakfast I've ever had. Will definitely go again just for breakfast even though it's 60 miles away. Can't wait to try the B&B & pub. Highly recommended biker friendly.

When in Matlock Bath there is only one place to go - The Bank Note! The owner is so friendly, hospitable, helpful and kind, more than that 100% dog friendly. We have visited on several occasions and each time we are greeted with a warm welcome. The dogs always get treats in the form of biscuits and yummy sausages. The food is excellent, great choice on the menu and there’s a lovely atmosphere wherever you sit (inside or out). If you haven’t been here - you must go, you won’t be disappointed!

Lovely little place, few nice drinks on tap and the owner kindly provided us with some extra ice to take on our journey (which was greatly appreciated! ). Great location and fabulous views on the river from the front. Lots of water bowls out for dogs too :)

If you need any food (breakfast) go to the bank note at Matlock bath Derbyshire food Very very nice piping hot great baps & full English breakfast the gentleman running it at the time we visited was brilliant he knew how keep us all happy with lattes flowing & drinks for my 3 grandkids plus colouring papers & crayons to keep them busy while waiting for food. Very nice warm place 12 of us nearly filled the cafe, you must try my family all gave it 5 stars. We all went on Sunday 23rd Jan. Opens early but closes at around 12ish as they run the hotel & bar next door.

We stopped by for an early lunch. At first we were a little hesitant as there weren't that many customers but after my son went in to chat with the owner, the first thing he said was that the owner seemed friendly so we went in. We're really glad we did as not only was the food good but the service was fantastic. We got to chatting with the owner, Paul, and he was really warm. We got to talking about the show Peaky Blinders and I wasn't that familiar with it. Paul disappeared and then came back with a Flat Cap as a gift for me to remember him by. I mean, who does that for their patrons? To top it off, my son accidentally spilled his (almost finished) coffee and not only did Paul come by to clean it up (he kept telling my son not to worry about it as accidents happen), he then showed up with a brand new cup of coffee and insisted that it was on the house. I've not experienced such hospitality in any of my travels around the world so I'm really surprised by the negative comments on service here. Someone made a comment here that the owner may be biased towards certain ethnicities and being Asian, we felt no biasness. In fact he joked about how it was international day at his shop with us Asians and the other table being from New Zealand. It's a nice family run place so if diners are fair/friendly, I'm sure Paul and family/staff would reciprocate. We highly recommend this place and will be stopping by the Bank Note Cafe when we visit Matlock Bath again!
