always got blamed for bullying when we try sort things out with our peers. and the teachers pick sides with the person who is acting like a victim. half of my group want to leave this college.its shocking

I started a health and social care diploma at this college. Within 1 month of being at this college I was getting bullied and discluded by the rest of the class which I think is wrong especially as we were there to learn about working in the care sector in the future! One of the tutors was being bullied too! My college work wasn't good cos of the bullying! I left and transferred to another college and let's just say the experience was so much better at this other college! I ended up getting a distinction at this other college which of I stayed at Filton I wouldn't even achieved a pass

I studied IT here a few years back. This is a wonderful college full of wonderful staff. I passed with really good grades and would recommend this college to anyone.I went to St. Brendans the year before attending Filton, and Filton wins by a mile. You can tell the staff at Filton care about their pupils and are really good at teaching.I fully recommend studying IT here!

Poor college, with staff who have very little experience and knowledge within certain areas of construction. Avoid if you want to be taught by staff with no trade experience.

At the moment with covis 19, this college is rather quiet. The access to the college is restricted but still a lovely warm welcome at the reception. Covid is still disrupting the everyday activities at the college. Face masks must be worn in classrooms and canteen areas. Staff that attend to deliver face to face teaching are doing an excellent job in challenging times.I take my hat off to them all as they are doing their best.

What a joke this college is. My son is a adult course for plumbing. Not even enough tools for 7 students, he was told it would be theory but was practical so he didn't have his own tools with him. 3 hours to hang 2 radiators on the wall as couldn't find any tools. I feel sorry for anyone who actually passes this course as they don't have any knowledge of what they are being taught as they are shown once and then moved on to something else. DO NOT ATTEND THIS COLLEGE AS YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MONIES WORTH.

I wasted the first year doing level 2 health and social care at Filton when I could have done H&SC L3 at college green with my grades. They are more strict compared to most colleges. But besides that it is a good college. and you deferentially need you core sciences if you want to do level 3 second year trust me or they wont take you on to the second year at all.

Shambles. Had my son on the wrong course for three years so. Thought we were on an apprenticeship course at 16 years old. Turns out they put them all on an adult learner course which is pointless as only covers 30% of the exams needed. Avoid

I attended Filton College from October 2016 until July 2018 and I was doing absolutely fine until I moved up to the Functional Skills Level One Maths from the Entry three class, I will be honest and say that I found the class difficult however I still passed my exam after which my tutor recommended to me that I should find a more local course as I had to commute from Yate and back again which meant I missed half and hour of each class. I understood where my tutor was coming from however despite the search I could not find a local one so I contacted the college to ask if I could enroll on their Functional Skills Level Two course and although they didn't say no they just kept fobbing me off by telling me to look again for more local courses which I may find easier as they are a smaller class. This went on for a few weeks then it took my employer to contact them and ask if it was possible for me to have extra support in class as I struggled and they said it wasn't possible!I know I struggled through the course at Filton but I have pushed out for no reason! When I went into class I kept my head down and worked and it wasn't as if I was rude or disruptive! And I always arrived at college early and did revision in the library in order to make up for missing time in class.Apparently Filton College give all of their students the help they need well not from my point of view they don't! Just beacuse I am a slower learner then others I was pushed out and they didn't say the words get out but they might as well have!Well guess what Filton? I have joined a more local course which I missed a week of thanks to your slow replies to my emails which just turned out to be lame excuses! And I am on a Level Two course which I will pass and that's no thanks to you! That's thanks to me being a hard working student!

Massive thanks to SGS College for encouraging and supporting me to complete my Access to Higher Educatiom Diploma in Health and Social Care course. I really didn’t think I could do it and one year sounded SO long, but it’s absolutely flew by! I had been out of eduction for ten years and I couldn’t imagine even completing the course let alone doing so well, but I did complete it in good time and better than I could have ever imagined! I have 2 young children and the access course was brilliant, just have to get yourself organised and you’ll do great!!Would 100% recommend SGS College for anyone thinking of taking a course or changing career. Cannot wait to start University now. Also, for those of you wanting to do a course to go to university after, you are likely eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan from the government who will pay the course fees for you, if you continue toUniversity as planned no need to pay back, they wipe the loan! if you don’t continue to university then I believe you pay back in instalments? I was really worried about finance side of things and studying and working but you can contact sgs and they can walk you through all the money wise of things!
