Lovely place and received an extremely warm welcome. I am very shy and nervous when meeting new people so I was very relieved to find such a kind and forward group of people. We received a very interesting talk on Buddhism and I know nothing of it but this has gained my interest and is something I will be looking into more. My only complaint was there was a lot of disruption during the meditation. People walking in and out of the room and talking during the introduction then the same, rustling and movement during meditation. As someone who is a beginner this threw me off and ruined the experience. I'm sure some of the others are pro so this might not bother them but to me I found it not only disrespectful to the man leading the meditation but to the beginners who are genuinely interested. Having said that I will not let this dominate my experience and will return to learn more and master the meditation

I found this wonderful place through Meetup groupI received very warm welcome. People here are very friendly and joyful.Guided meditation, after a great introductory talk by experienced local practitioner, was very easy to follow.I recommend this place to everyone who would like to learn more about authentic Buddhist practice. Discover the nature of their mind and learn how to be more beneficial for other people.I'm looking forward to next talks and meditation sessions.

My partner and I were somewhat disappointed by the Thursday event. The introductory talk that preceded the meditation was muddled and unstructured. Working as we both do in mental health, we took exception at the description of people with mental health diagnoses as ‘fruitcakes’ and ‘nutters’. Such language, one might say, is very unenlightened and unreflective. Going in to the mediation we both felt unsettled.

A dangerous religious organisation, best to read about Karma Kagyu lineage before you join it, in My experience the practises are dangerous, the teachers are aggressive and the teachings aren't clear.

This is the place for anyone looking to learn about authentic Buddhist teachings and meditation techniques. There's introductory talk designed for first-timers followed by short meditation every Monday and Thursday from 7pm, free of charge. No special uniform or dress code is required. People from the centre are nice and welcoming, always willing to chat or answer questions.

No 1 Buddhist Centre in the UK.Welcoming, warm-hearted atmosphere. Parts of this great historic building are still being refurbished - but you will not miss that meditation is central to everything happening there. All run by a wonderful group of enthusiastic and generous volunteers.
