Build-A-Bear

I visited here a few years ago and although it was busy, the staff were so kind and helpful.Today I visited to create a special bear for my friends birthday with the heartbeat of her baby recorded.Approaching the store it looked shut as there was no staff members in view. But upon entering there was a male employee standing with two ladies. I picked my bear and went to the sound machine and tried to record my audio. The machine says not to worry about background noise as its specialised to only get the audio directly. This was far from the truth. The music blaring in the background almost completely disguised the heartbeat and then the employee started talking and starting the machine for stuffing, which was clearly heard on the audio. I was there for around 15 minutes trying to record it but it just kept getting noisier and the stress of it all was really getting to me. I placed the bear skin back and left, gutted at the outcome. At the price of these things, there should really be better equipment and more staff on.It's mistreatment towards staff as well, having one staff member on is an unbelievable amount of stress for them.

I never went to build a Bear as a child so I popped in today, more just for the curiosity.I want to say big thank you to Colin for being so kind and patient with me. I genuinely am so grateful. I struggled with choosing and they were just so kind!

Always had great experiences at this branch however I wanted to give particular praise to Bunny, who served me today. Not only were they personable and kind but they took my partner and I through the heart-giving ceremony in a really welcoming manner; something that stood out is that they ensured the ceremony was accessible in case any customers had disabilities. This was really appreciated as my partner is legally blind - while he may not look it, it was genuinely heartwarming for Bunny to A) not assume we were able bodied and B) ensure the ceremony was accessible regardless of our potential needs. It was great chatting away to them and they made a positive difference to our visit. Not usually one for reviews but they deserve a shout out :)

Friendly staff, good variety of products, fair prices. Just wish that the company would stop talking about how much they apparently care about kids whilst also giving money to LGBTQ+phobic bigot J. K. Rowling.

Son loved it. Spent time and lots of money in the shop.One over enthusiastic staff member was polity cut off as she stated my son had An awful girly rainbow one there!" It was a rainbow Unicorn he's young and it's Scotland's national animal..!!!Importantly he was happy so happy.. !Fortunately he did not seem to notice.You stuttered when he also bought sequence slippers.Kids are more open minded today. Make the sale.He is so happy. Loves his purchases as we only came for one outfit and ended up with 3 outfits and 2 x bare of sorts..! And slippers.The staff on all were kind nice and to be commended. My son had fun picking and still loves his toys. The new teddy's are part of the many BAB collection he has at home now !Thank you for all the cuddles."

5 stars by the kids' ratings-which is what really matters.For myself, it was only 3 stars for the amount of staff around but no-one helping, no one managing the three+ queues that formed at the two stations & the constant noise of the hoover is tremendous. Can't hear what's being said with it on.

We had our first build-a-bear experience at the weekend. We were greeted on arrival by a very knowledgeable staff member who asked us if we had been before. He then showed us the ropes, making the process nice and easy for my toddler. There is a huge range to choose from without it being too overwhelming.

Took our 2yr old daughter to the store today to make her a birthday bear. We were served by Beth she is a absolute asset to your store! My daughter is autistic so can be completely overwhelmed by her environment and people approaching her Beth was so understanding and took us through our bear building journey with such care and kindness. We were also served at the til by another lovely staff member the whole experience was amazing and really helped make my daughters birthday special thank you! We will definitely be shopping here again.

Great visit, our first to the store. Lovely boy helping us took time with our wee ones to make it really special. They were delighted with their choices. Thank you
