French Consulate

I have applied for France Schengen visa from TLS on 10/8/2023 based on your website saying that it takes only 12 to 15 business days to get the visa. It's over a month now and I still don't have the visa nor my passport!! My trip is ruined already and I'm stuck now and I can't even travel to my home country!!TLS agents always say we can't do anything for you as your passport is still in the consulate! How should people plan their trips if you are not commited to the info on your website and you keep their passports stuck for ages?!

Very efficient service. I was supported through the process of getting a passport and the customer service was very good, knowledgeable and friendly. Seeing the bad reviews I was expecting some delay and difficulties but I was really surprised by the great service I received

My partner applied for a visa with the French embassy twice and was rejected both times for false reasons were given. We won’t go into details of the reasons that we’re given as I think this is pathetic.Well, we ended up travelling through France to get to Netherlands anyway funnily enough! And what a place France is…I can understand people needing to visit for emergency purposes or family etc but to be refused to have a holiday in France I think is a bit ridiculous. There is nothing in France to visit…nothing to do other than get ripped off. The people are rude and arrogant on another level and it was just awful.Not worth a penny. Puts the country to shame.

After previously struggling to get an appointment for a passport & ID for months and having to fly to France to get this sorted I am surprised to admit that I managed to get a same day appointment on Monday!I checked the website with 0 expectations at 9:50am and bam there was a slot available for 16:30 - I honestly couldn’t believe it.Everyone at the consulate was kind and efficient, the whole process didn’t last more than 20 minutes! I was told that my documents will be ready in about 4 weeks time, I will be notified via text and will be able to collect them without scheduling and appointment.If you’ve ever had to renew your documents in France you would know what a hassle this is and none of the staff I’ve dealt with there were as professional and efficient as the staff at the consulate. It also took 2 months for my documents to be ready in France…So it’s 5 ⭐️ from me and I hope you keep up the good work.

Unhelpful staff! When my visa application was not accepted due to the old UK BRP expiring less than 30 days after the date of return from France, they didn't let me change my ticket dates on the spot to accommodate the change, my new BRP arrived the day after and they wouldn't reconsider the French visa application or allocate me a new paid appointment - had to wait 3 months for the last one! I get it that their work is outsourced to private companies like VFS but shouldn't that mean it's more streamlined? Why make people wait so long for appointments that their old travel permits expire in the meantime?! Why have work days with appointments running only till 3pm when the demand is so high?

After experiencing a real nightmare to get an appointment to renew my ID card, once at the consulat the staff was helpful. When it came to book an appointment for my passport it was unbelievably different, lots of slots available! Got to the consulate but for some reason my appointment hadn't come through. The security staff spoke to the reception and managed to get me an appointment on the spot, which was extremely helpful as I lived a good way away! And in both cases my documents arrived back in 10 days, which is impressive. Can only compliment the staff at the consulat!

Give me back my passport! I have been submitting my visa for nearly a month now and many people who submitted their visas ten days ago have got their passports, your work is disorganised and lazy. You have ruined my entire holiday and caused me £2,000 in damageThe whole world knows that something is wrong with your system and your work, but you don't give any explanations

I do understand that the consulate is not able comment on the process of the visa but at least for some urgent cases they can inform you regarding the location of your passport so I can do some rearrangement (participating a symposium and I need to inform them). They receive applications through TSLcontact, whose web site is not working properly to book an appointment which delays the application significantly. Unfortunately, at the end all the sides says it is not our responsibility and no one really willing to help. To best of my understanding, it is my responsibility to ensure TLScontact website is working properly or to see the future and know the acceptance of a submission in advance to start application much more earlier :)

Couci-couça! Place is OK, staff is friendly but this is the 21st Century: do it all online like the British, Italian authorities do. I won't say anything about trying to get an appointment in the first place! The whole system needs overhauling and brought into the digital age. Fully. It took me 3 weeks from getting citizenship to getting my UK passport, all done on-line. QED.

Feels like traveling to the Middle Ages when no digital technology was available, plus a massive dose of incompetence. Huge amounts of economic and emotional and time loss in the U.K. from non British residents having to wait for ages to get entry permits. No apology even. Amazing that this is France’s first port of call. In the U.K. and any civilised country these services would be utterly unacceptable.
