St Peter's Church, Swainsthorpe

Neat churchyard, moody in the winter sunlight, but imposing round tower. Alas, I couldn't get inside.

I hope to travel here & see this surrounding area in search of my paternal grandfather & eventual family migration to America. Ironically, I trained w/ the British Royal Commandos at Thetford training area in the mid 90's. Oh so close to 8 + generations of Shinn's, Sheen's & Schene's (last name changes were not un-ordinary from this time. The areas were Freckenham, Shottesham, Tivetshall & Swainsthorp, all areas for my ancestors and these local churches. Such beautiful countryside and history. Thank you.Charles Shinn
