Mountjoy Open Air Theatre

This place was an absolute nightmare to find! I had a good time once I was there but there is no sign posting. Google maps directions are non-existent for this place.The website said one adress and the tickets said another

A pain in the arse to find from Barbican Station - the website for MOATfest was a bit unhelpful in that regard. But perfectly nice for an outdoor venue and it's small enough that everyone had a good view.

Enter St Giles Terrace at the corner of Fore St/Wood St and follow the path towards the theatre. At the bottom of the steps there is a bridge to cross the pond on the right hand side which leads to the theatre. There is no signposting for the theatre at all.

A pleasant enough venue when there but difficult to find. Our See Tickets just said, Mountjoy Open Air Theatre (MOST) London, and even on the See Tickets website it doesn't make it clear how to get to the venue, We ended up walking all the way around and it took 50 minutes to find. You need to access the Barbican complex from the Wood Street / Fore Street junction (What three words; Fans,Quite,Chart, then walk across the square next to St Giles Cripplegate church to Crest,Buddy,Melon). Once there the venues ok, very small but acceptable for a small show.

The entrance is from the corner of Wood Street and Fore Street via St Giles Terrace. When you reach the water, walk down the stairs on the right and you can get to the theatre via a small walkway where they scan your ticket.

Probably the most awkward place to find that I’ve ever been to. This was for Stand Up Under The Stars. Not a single sign anywhere and allegedly short staffed, not accounting for the people in lanyards just hanging around. The directions said there would be someone to direct you from the square! Not a soul apart from the woman with a clipboard standing out of sight. Ridiculous!
