Do not go here for afternoon tea! Nothing was good about the experience! Extortionately priced for onion tasting sandwiches, synthetic cream cakes and scones, oh yes, and no tea or coffee served! No other people in the restaurant, speaks volumes. Highly unrecommended! This place certainly did not please please me" the poor waitress Abigail was the only person there and was being dragged to other bars "here

Only two in restaurant which is like a canteen. Pub menu, not at all fine dining or even quirky. The bar ran out of the rosé I ordered, our food order was incorrect so we didn’t get charged for one main, they were laying for breakfast as we were eating dinner. Come on, fabulous location in a fabulous city. Get yourselves together.

There was no clear indication as to how to get to the restaurant but we found it eventually. Mostly the staff were okay just a bit clueless and not very professional. One woman that served us was amazing and we connected well with her. There was someone that was higher up that seemed more professional but only appeared once to keep the staff in line, when she wasn't there they just stood around chatting. There was a table that had been eaten at and not cleared from when we got there to when we left. The atmosphere was completely lacking and it felt like a canteen in a work place. No steak knife with steak, side didn't turn up until asked for, no range of wines. Red or white was mentioned then only one white due to a wedding that day or day prior. I completely understand stock levels can be affected post wedding but it wasn't explained to us on arrival, given no drinks menu, no apologies for the lack of stock. Its just wasn't a great experience. Seems like a good hotel to stay at and a good place for a spot of brekki after your stay but as an evening restaurant with the competition around it need to up its game big time. Food was nice but maybe a touch pricey for what it was. £25 for an 8oz steak with shop bought frozen onion rings and ship bought slaw takes the biscuit a bit.

A party of 27 have just eaten at this restsurant. It was the worst meal we have ever had. Service was bad and slow despite having pre ordered in advance. The staff were young and inexperienned. Meals were cold and duck was raw. Pathetic portions with no option to order sides. I sent my meal back twice. There was no water ice or lemon at the bar. Staff didn't know what to charge for drinks so put them through as alternative items. The menu had just been changed and we were the guinea pigs. The menu on line was not what we were offered. The bill did not tally but when it came to paying the restaurant manager was nowhere around and left the young girls to deal with us. When we asked for the General manager we were told they didn't have one ATM. That explains it all.

Waiter was excellent. Unfortunately the rest of the meal was a bit of disaster. This was supposed to be a special birthday meal and unfortunately it's put a bit of downer on the evening. For start the Gluten Free options were extremely limited, which in this day in age, is extremely poor. Food took ages to arrive, yet there were hardly any customers. My Stepfather's meal would have left a child hungry. We had to send the desserts back, as they were stone cold. A real shame, as obviously the surroundings are really nice and the waiter was attentive. Ultimately, I wouldn't book there again.

Ate here on a Sunday evening as part of a dinner, bed and breakfast package at the Hard Days Night Hotel. Expecting a great atmosphere in a Beatles themed restaurant, in Liverpool during Eurovision week, we could not have been more wrong. For the duration of our meal we were the only 2 people in the restaurant. No atmosphere at all, no Beatles music played, someone even popped in to turn the music down at one point. No memorabilia on the walls or anything, just a few pictures dotted about. Decor was fine but no different from hundreds of vanilla restaurants, they are really missing a trick here. The lack of a genuine Beatles experience was a real let down. The food was delicious, well presented and in decent sized portions. Service was generally good as you would expect but there was an awkwardness around the bill when our gift voucher wasn't taken into account and the waitress didn't know what to do, surely not a difficult thing to get right, especially when you only have 2 customers and reception had booked the table for us at check in. High expectations which were nowhere near met, there are many great restaurants I would return to in Liverpool, this is sadly not one of them.

I was absolutely disgusted by the service we receieved at our afternoon tea.I made a note upon booking that we were visiting for a special birthday, when we arrived we were looked at by staff for 10 minutes before anybody even bothered to come over to seat us. There was no acknowledgment for the special occasion as I’d requested and we were completely ignored. The place had 0 atmosphere and there was not any music playing (for a Beatles themed restaurant you would think they would at least have music) It then took around 15 minutes before we were offered tea/coffee. It then took a while to bring over two cups of black tea and a cup of black coffee. We assumed the milk and sugar would follow as we were not asked but it was made clear they were going to leave us with black teas/coffee! My partner had to go over to where they were all standing around to ask for milk and sugar, and a teapot of tea for us all due to the service being absolutely shocking. When the afternoon tea eventually arrived it was not bad, just bogstandard nothing special but still we can’t fault the food. The service we receieved was worse than awful, we also witnessed the staff standing around doing nothing and the chef rang the bell numerous times and due to the fact people’s food was sitting there ready to be brought out, the chef ended up bringing it out himself! The chef then also asked us if we were enjoying the afternoon tea (again something the servers should have done)Matters were made worse (we didn’t think it could get any worse) when we were brought the bill over (after asking twice) and we receieved a HANDWRITTEN bill, no proper receipt as apparently the internet was down. We were charged more than what the prices stated online but at this point the experience completely ruined my nans 70th birthday afternoon tea and we were so fed up I just paid and left. I was disgusted by the service we receieved and I would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone again.

£85 for a Christmas lunch, vile. Ham terrine, disgusting! The Turkey lunch was inedible and dry, hardly any gravy.Dessert was better but shop bought.I’m starving. I think the worst was the management, didn’t acknowledge that the food was atrocious and just wanted rid of us.This is people experience, we’ve been away from family for two years and had a terrible Christmas last year, we were so looking forward to this Christmas and the experience. What a total disappointment, an expensive one.The waiter staff, however, were really helpful. We didn’t get speak to any management. Totally avoid

Don't go here for the afternoon tea. I called to book to confirm the menu and price. On visiting, we were given a different menu that we didn't like, for a more expensive price. They asked if we were happy with that, we said no and were prepared to leave, but they made some arrangements for things to go through as we expected. While grateful for this, it was just an awkward start. We were the only guests in the dining hall. Each person got 4 very thin finger sandwiches with margarine (not real butter), that had little filling. The cakes did not feel fresh - no fresh cream, very dense and sweet buttercream, so overall very heavy on the sweet side and synthetic tasting. Best thing was the scone with clotted cream and jam.Waitress asked us if we wanted tea, and brought us early gray instead of English breakfast. Asked us if we wanted milk, we said no, then brought a jug anyway (awkward again, and a waste). After being told the menu we originally wanted was not available and one item would be adjusted instead, another lady brought us a printed menu with the original menu - so suddenly it's available? Just confusing, and they didn't clarify this. And to top it off, they included a nice service charge on the bill. No idea what for. Left feeling quite ill from all the sugar and margarine.
