Brand new BMW motorcycle dealership in Brockenhurst. They stock the complete range of BMW motorcycles plus a large selection of second hand machines too. Based in the old Balmer Lawn Honda dealers. Sales and service. The staff were helpful and friendly when we visited in August 2022

Where do I startMy Daughter brought her first car from Balmer Lawn garage. All went well polite staff Ben was our sales rep. However after about 500miles the car gear box gave up and my Daughter was stuck, RAC were called out and the car was taken back to Balmer Lawn Garage. The car was still under Waranty and thought this would be a quick fix, however unfoutnatley my daughter is still waiting after 5 plus weeks. Phone calls are promised but not kept. We are still waiting and with a wedding comming up soon My Daughter has no transport.Still waiting

I went into the showroom late this morning to look at the new BMW GS 1300. I've had 6 previously. I spent a good ten minutes looking around the GS1300 Trophy on display. In that time not one person acknowledged me or spoke to me. In the end I just walked out.

Avoid. Stick to Bahnstormer Alton.Dropped my GSA in for a 12k service and was excited to try out a new Motorrad dealer just a stone's throw away from my place of work. Unfortunately, from the beginning things seemed a bit off. I was asked what I would like carried out on my service...? I was under the impression BMW had a written service scheme that was to be adhered to at every 6000 miles. After agreeing to do everything, and making sure that the valve clearances were done (this seemed to not be the case to begin with but was later bottomed out). I left on a brand spanking F900XR. I also needed the recall work done which included an software update and was warned this could take some time. I had no feedback from the team until I phoned them at 16:20. Funnily enough my bike was just ready to collect. On arrival I was immediately disappointed as my bike was left out the front in the way of cars entering and exiting the parking area. It was also filthy - granted I should keep it cleaner, but Bahnstormer usually provide a free of charge valet to a detailers standard. There was no vehicle health check carried out and on further inspection the right hand rocker cover spark plug cover was loose and not fitted correctly, and appears to now be misshapen. Next I noticed a pungent aroma of fresh fuel and was immediately concerned. I couldn't see any leaks so assumed it was from under one of the fuel tank connections. On further inspection (I ride with a tank bag) I noticed that my filler cap was left open. When attempting to close, I was met with the failure of the fuel cap which meant I had to take off the filler cap to reset the catch. This left me with a feeling of dread thinking what else have they damaged/not checked on the service?! Extremely frustrating, slow and clunky experience from the team and when you're spending £500 on a service, you expect better. I have added a star as they did offer me free coffee on arrival and I was lucky enough to get a loan bike - the poor chap behind me in the queue was offered a loan car! I usually look forward to taking my bike in for a service at Bahnstormer Alton as it is a much more enjoyable experience. I will not return here. My own fault for not being more prepared!UPDATE FRIDAY 28TH JULY 2023.So, after a week in the workshop I have my bike back. The issue with the ignition coil cover was caused by my right hand spark plug being cross threaded in the rocker cover. The BMW Tech also advised me that the engine oil had been vastly overfilled and he admitted he had NO idea how the bike was handed back to me. Very disappointing that this passed internal QA and the bike was signed off. According to Alistair, the dedicated BMW tech was not in to service my bike. In all honesty, I would have rather waited for him to return!A couple of other frustrating but understandable delays : apparently the gasket kits for the rocker covers aren't stock items and had to be ordered in. I can't see why these aren't held as a stock item?! They also had to wait a number of days for a tap to arrive to chase the thread out of the rocker cover. Luckily, the damage was salvageable and a new rocker cover wasn't required. (a quick google tells me that's nearly £200!)What I will say is that Alistair and Mikey (BMW Tech) handled the issue fantastically. Communication could have been a touch better, I often had to chase them for an update, but that's just me. They were open, and honest with the failings and mistakes. Also, Mikey is a magician with a BMW. I didn't think it would be possible to make a GSA ride better, but when I picked the bike up it brought an INSTANT smile to my face. It will take a fair amount for me to trust Balmer Lawn with my bike again, but if I can guarantee that Mikey is working on my bike - that may sway me.

Really cosy and friendly new BMW Motorrad dealership with extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. It's difficult to add any more praise that hasn't already been mentioned in the other reviews here but safe to say, I eventually left with a shiny new RS! :-)

If you are looking for a BMW motorcycle dealer, then avoid here for service. Appaling customer service from the top down. There is absolutey no interest in delivering basic customer needs, no proper follow-up to visit, complaints and enquiries. You are paying for a premium service but treated terribly. It bothers me that most Franchise Dealers work so hard to obtain a good repution and educate as to why you should use them, only for places like this to drive you elsewhere.Just a note, two weeks after speaking with someone senior at Balmer Lawn and a promise to get back to me with answers to my questions - still nothing. Shop elsewhere.

Avoid - really poor, don't keep you informed, never return a promised call. If you even complain the manager will say you are abusing staff. He then shook my hand and tried to crush it with a wry smile, when I said what was that?" that he shouted F off! This seems to be a practiced method of intimidation to get a frustrated customer to lose their rag

The guys at Balmer Lawn Garage were extremely helpful, accommodating and professional. We had an emergency (puncture in O/S/F tyre) and called in after passing the garage, on the off chance hoping that they could assist. We were seen immediately and the repair was completed within half an hour. Quality, friendly service. Highly recommend.
