GAIL's Bakery Brook Green

11:00 am visit . Good presentation of the food, lovely green tea. Good quantity of bacon. However not the most succulent perfect eggs and bacon.The eggs were half stuck to the ramekin, extremely dry.Sour dough bread was great. Bacon definitely smoked.Good cleanliness of facilities and area. Staff , despite it being hard to be in the service industry needs to smile. They are the forefront contact.

I’m a regular at Gail’s and have had decent experiences which have unfortunately been overshadowed by the service.The positives: dog friendly, decent food that’s relatively well priced (come in the morning when it’s freshly baked). Sometimes they give you complimentary things near the end of the day which is amazing. Closes relatively late (7pm) which is good for a cafe. Has air conditioning which is great in summer.The negatives: I have had a few really bad experiences with service. They usually try to get customers to leave well before closing time. Yesterday, I heard the barista telling one man that their closing time was 30 minutes earlier than it actually is. Then at about 6:30pm they started turning the music progressively louder until it was unbearably loud (it honestly felt like a joke it was so loud). I assume it was to encourage people to leave, which I find extremely rude. Rather just come up to us and ask us to leave (not that they should be doing this before closing). Another time I came they also started trying to get us to leave 20 minutes before closing. It’s also quite dirty a lot of the time as they don’t come around and clean that often.

This Gail’s has something very unique about it. Old style bakery layout, with plentiful food selection even from afar. Good smells of freshly baked goods as you’re walking down the street and optimistic servers as you enter. I was served today by Mina (if I caught her name correctly). She welcomed me with a big smile, asked if I needed any help deciding and luckily a fresh batch of Christmas buns had arrived by the person cooking in the kitchen, as the smell wandering past my senses she said “these are fresh out of the oven, and a great seller at this time of year”. I was sold instantly! We sat inside and enjoyed a chai latte, the music was at good level, temperature was perfect considering outside. Tables were being cleared and cleaned as soon as customers were departing. Well done Gail’s, this store is a 10/10 will definitely be coming back!

Went inside to grab a pastry and when I came back server had took my entire tea set away. Servers should check before turning tables over so quickly.

This used to be my favorite place to get coffee, but my recent experiences at Gail's have left me feeling disappointed.As a regular customer, I used to love their oat flat white, but the quality of coffee has noticeably gone down recently.I am not sure if they have changed their process/coffee machine/coffee grounds, but my last three coffees have tasted quite bland and looked quite terrible too (see picture). They used to taste strong and look good (I wish I had a pic to show the diff).Pastries and food are still great but I might not bother with the coffee until they sort it out.I hope that someone from Gail's Bakery reads this review and takes action..

Great bakery! I stumbled upon it while walking around the street. There was a long line ahead of me. Apparently it is very famous and sought after place!They have insane number of varieties of pastries, sweet and savoury.I had their scone with cream and jam. (On a scone hunt in this trip!). I also tried their cafe latte. The scone was big! I was so full after having it. The cream and jam are to be paid extra.The ambience is cute and they have decent seating space.I’d recommend to go there and also buy some food merchandise.

Good coffee and pastries. Fast service and cafe has free wifi. We tried sausage roll with is just the right amount of sausage and flaky bread. Ham and cheese quiche is good, would be better if they can warm it up a bit. Plain scone and capuccino are also good.

Absolutely delicious. The staff are lovely, too. I was torn between the blueberry and custard brioche and the sesame butter apple cake. I picked the apple cake and made the absolute right decision, some of the best cake I’ve ever had.

Great bakery shop in the neighborhood! A wonderful way to start your day with coffee and pastries (sweet & savory) of good quality. Both days we chose to have breakfast there, there was a long queue, which delayed our orders.However, I strongly recommend this bakery for tasty goodies in case you live/stay nearby.

Not a great staff they are not treating customers nicely. Although the pastries and hot drinks were good, The cinnamon buns was cold and not freshly made. We loved the Chai Late and the pecan pie.
