If you look at the reviews for Wrench Jewelers, you can see a trend occurring with dissatisfied customers for their watch repairs. Approximately 2 years ago I took my watch in for a full service, at a cost of £420. What followed was 4 return journeys and countless months without my timepiece to have problems rectified. Eventually after my watch became faulty again (fifth occasion), I decided to send my watch to another watchsmith to have the service done again. The pictures attached are what they found inside the mainspring barrel, which had allegedly been cleaned and the mainspring replaced as part of the service. Needless to say it is quite obvious the work was not carried out/not carried out to the required standard. On the 14/02/2020, I was refunded by my credit card company, who supported my claim regarding the level of work carried out by Wrench. This really is an abridged version of events, as it would take my pages to describe how awful this process has been.Whilst Wrench receives glowing reviews for their work with Jewellery and gemstones on here and in the local area, their work on timepieces leaves a lot to be desired. I really wanted to support a local company, but all I received was poor workmanship and condescending comments from staff in the store.

Purchased an engagement ring and a set of wedding rings. Fantastic Service offered throughout. Very personal and bespoke service provided. Engagement ring designed and made to the exact specification required. Could not have asked for a better service. Accommodating, friendly and helpful. Will definitely use in future.

Took my chain in for a repair as after 10 years of daily wear the clasp spring had finally kicked the bucket. The man who greeted me was very friendly and professional. They didn't have the parts required at the time of visit but I was told that I could leave it with him and he would have it repaired in a few days, no more than 24 hours later and I get a call saying that it is ready to pick up.Very good service, gave my chain it's first clean and it looked brand new, couldn't be happier.Tl;dr, very friendly staff who are good at what they do, excellent customer service and amazing services. Highly recommend.

When you really don't know how you want your ring to look but have a few random ideas Wrench Fine Jewellery exceeded my expectations. Thank you so much, I love it!

I had 5 watch batteries replaced in a range of watches including a couple of Armani, a Michael Korrs and a Raymond Weil. Price was great and it was done on the premises, most other jewellers in Hanley have to send away. David also handmade a holder for a very inexpensive but very sentimental St Christopher, it was perfect as was the new chain. Great experience, cant thank you enough.

Took my watch in for repair after it stopped working , was charged £100 for it to be repaired, only for it to fail again 3 months later. Took it back and was told that i had dropped or hit it and would have to pay another £100 for it to be repaired. I told the lady on the phone that it failed when i wound it after days of not using it and that i have never dropped or hit the watch but she was not interested. If i had caused the damage i would not be on your door again asking for you to fix it again! I am a genuine and honest person and have been let down by Wrench its a shame i did not read other reviews about wrench and their watch repairs or i would have gone elsewhere. I would advise anyone to do the same.

Polished and re-soldered the links of two necklace pendants (all in-house) as well as helped me to select a suitable chain to hold and display them. Incredibly reasonable price for all services rendered and very happy with the finished product. Highly recommend.

I wanted my engagement ring replated before my wedding, but all the big jewellers told me they couldn’t guarantee it would be back in time for the wedding (4 weeks) as they couldn’t do it on site. I was looking in Manchester for places I could drop it off and pick it up the same day, when someone told me about Wrench’s. I popped in and enquired, and was helped by a lovely guy who told me it would be ready for the next day! (He even apologised that it wouldn’t be the same day!) I’ve just picked my engagement ring up just over 24hrs later, and it looks brand new! (Also £20 cheaper than the big jewellers were quoting me!) So so pleased, thank you so much. Highly recommend

We've been using this jewelller and watchmaker for well over thirty years, both for jewellery and watch servicing. Over that time we've had great service and clear advice when we asked for it. Our most recent visit was September 2022.
