Johnston Gardens | Aberdeen City Council | Johnston Gardens is a photographer’s dream! The park used to belong to the Johnston House estate but was gifted to the city in 1936. This beautiful landscaped garden boasts streams, ponds, waterfalls, rockeries and a picturesque bridge that has featured in many wedding photos over the years! There is also a children’s play area and toilet facilities. The park comes alive in the spring and summer as the rhododendrons, spring bulbs, heathers and alpines blossom; the ponds are full of irises and aquatic plants with visiting mallard ducks and breeding moor hens.

Johnston Gardens
Visited in April. park with a pond, ducks over it, very small waterfall and number of seats to rest! Can spend an hour at this place. Free Parking in front of the park. Decent place.

Johnston Gardens
This is a beautiful tranquil spot in the suburbs of Aberdeen. You leave busy roads and walk into these lovely gardens. The rhododendrons are so colourful just now and there are so many beautiful species of trees and shrubs. The pond is lovely too with families of ducks with ducklings. There's also a moorhen nesting in the pond. A very peaceful place to have a walk round. I believe it's tended by volunteers. A huge thank you to them all for all their hard work.

A wonderful place with lots of colourful flowers in spring and summer time. It's little small but it's calm and quiet.

Beautiful quiet small park with duck pond, benches and big blue bridge. Lots of lovely windy paths, flowers, shrubs and trees. Toilets at the entrance. Car park across the road from entrance.

Lovely little park for a walk. Children's play area and plenty of benches and grassy areas to stop and have a seat. Beautiful plants and a really oriental feel to parts of the 5 a beautiful bright blue bridge. A favourite for wedding photographs. There is a stream and duck pond in the Park making it a firm favorite with children. Pity the toilets aren't open more often or the score would be higher. There are no facilities in this park to buy food or drinks, but there are cafes and shops quite close by.

Beautiful gardens ,so peaceful,with a beautiful pond and lots of ducks ,which the children love feeding.Also amazing features a small waterfall dropping down over the rocks ,and running into the pond and a beer bridge, giving views of all parts of the park

Dropped by for a short stroll and then relaxed on one of the many benches dotted around the gardens. Lots of mallards in the pond and even a heron today.

Stunning well kept park/gardens. Lovely pathways to enjoy different areas. Great pond with ducks and lilies just in bud so will return real soon to see the explosion of colour. A very pleasant find
