Andrea is truly a ray of sunshine.We were so anxious about the photoshoot but the minute we met her, we forgot how nervous we were. She was so amazing and joyful, and made us feel really comfortable throughout the entire shoot. We had such a fun time chatting, as if we've known each other for years. It was our first visit to Edinburgh and we'd say the meeting Andrea was one of the best parts of our trip. Thank you so much again for the lovely experience. Once we were finally able to make our pandemic-delayed family trip to Edinburgh, we wanted to have pictures as we were traveling with my parents. None of the group has had professional photos since our wedding, so it was time for an update! There was also no better setting than Edinburgh. Andrea was great at making us comfortable (including my father who can be a curmudgeon), taking some posed, and snapping lots of candids of us in the city. I had reached out to her before our trip, and we had great conversations about what we wanted from the experience. She was a delight to work with throughout the entire process! I highly recommend her, and I hope we will be able to travel again to Edinburgh and have her document it again!

Andrea took our first family photos with our new baby and we couldn't be more pleased with how they turned out! The session was relaxed and informal and Andrea got loads of good images in a short time window. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for natural photographs of their family.

From the get-go, Andrea is a wonderful, warm and professional person and brings great energy to her sessions. She efficiently managed my booking request for my family portraits and graduation photographs, and was very responsive to all my follow-up questions. What I found most helpful was her flexibility around the the location and timings of our session - considering how hard it is to indicate exactly when a graduation ceremony would end and the crowds ebb away enough. She took constant initiative to make sure our session was well-organised and that my extremely nervous lot could feel more comfortable being photographed. The gloominess of the weather did not deter her from capturing gorgeous moments with very pretty lighting - my family was so happy with the final results, they made it to our inboxes in less than a week post-graduation. Her photography style captures colour, movement, chaos, and emotions so beautifully! I would highly recommend her services, rest assured, your special day / moment will be captured with love.

We recently asked Andrea to take some three generations family photos as we were together to celebrate my PhD graduation. I had previously seen fantastic photos she had taken at school events. Andrea has such a lovely way about her, she makes everyone feel at ease. As a result she is able to take photographs that are so natural and really capture the moment and relationships between people. We are so delighted with our photos, they are a very special record of a moment in our family life.

Andrea is professional, friendly and great fun to work with. Andrea’s photographs capture terrific moments whether candid or formal. With a real talent for putting subjects at ease, it makes choosing the final shots difficult with so many to select from. Andrea’s work is always thoughtful and of great quality.I thoroughly enjoyed the photography session - I’ve never been keen on having my photograph taken, but I was delighted with the experience and the results. We owe a lot to Andrea. From the first contact she has been fantastic. We approached Andrea after seeing her family photography on Instagram and thought she would be perfect to photograph our elopement. We are so glad she said yes as she has perfectly captured our memories. She made it so comfortable to hang out on the day, she also put our mind at ease during the lead up . We recently marked our son’s first birthday with a mini photo session at the Botanics with Andrea Thomson Photography.Andrea has taken some amazing and beautiful photos and the session itself felt very relaxed and natural.
