York City Football Club

This review is based on a my recent visit to watch York City and is based on the service we received and not anything to do with the stadium and grounds itself.This was a busy Boxing Day game and many people were attending which was great. It was my first time here as I was visiting family and didn’t know any local grounds rules. 5 mins before kick off many people are getting pies and pints. Annoyingly, around the bar area there are no signs saying you cannot take alcohol into the stadium and not at any point did the servers notify you, there are only signs at the tunnels leading to the stands. I think it’s common sense and courtesy to let people know so close to kick off if you’re buying alcohol you cannot take in. As we were about to kick off, we had to leave our pints and just eat our pies. Two pints and two pies for £19.50 and we weren’t even able to drink our pints. Again I do not think it’s good customer service to do this and consider it disrespectful, I actually want a refund for my wasted beer. Also as an ending comment the grounds staff were very aggressive that we initially walked through with alcohol and basically shouted at us. They need to consider that not everyone are regulars and know the rules.

nice ground friendly locals and stewards good catering and beers bit expensive but where isnt ,iong way from town centre but there are regular shuttle buses,looking forward to going again next season when we are both back in the football league

Nice proper old style ground toilets a bit primitive but not as as much as the stewards refused a disabled family taking in their own food which was needed as one of them was diabetic even after they was given the explanation the family was still refused admission with the food told they could buy some inside but apart from water expensive food and drinks inside which also stopped serving at the start of the second half two pound for can of pop refused to buy anything at them prices

Great place to watch Batley & Leeds United

Good football ground lots of facilities but a bit far from the town to walk. UP THE DALE. RAFC
