Proper pub run by proper people. Decent beers and food. gets really busy at times.Quick update, Sunday lunch is still great value. Proper grub. Weekdays menu hasn't changed much and is still tasty and fair value.Ever changing beer menu gives you plenty of drinking choice. Still a top place for a feed and a drink or three.......

I’d heard word about the Sunday Roast Dinner at the Ridings for a couple of weeks at this point but it’s only once I’d tried it for myself did I understand the hype. Sylvia and the staff have put together a no-frills, no menu ‘take what you’re given and enjoy’ feast of wonderfully cooked beef on a bed of mash with veg, stunning roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese and a nicely crisp and fluffy Yorkshire Pudding.The gravy is thick and beefy, the CAMRA-endorsed bar selection is expansive and deep, the decor is rich and colourful, and the atmosphere is a heady mix of warm welcome for newcomers with that confidence of a pub that knows exactly how good it is. The West Ridings really is a venue that you have to give a go at some point in your life before you head on down the road… highly recommended.
