The Works
Store is over two floors (top floor up steep stairs). Downstairs is fully wheelchair accessible but has ramp to part of shop. Like most Works stores, floor space can be crowded but eaiser to get round than some. Friendly staff and normal The Works type goods and prices

The store is good and has lots of great products at amazing prices, however, the staff are unhelpful and it seems likes it too much hard work to help. Don't expect any pleasantries or happy smiles, you definitely won't get them.

I Loved it, I just started drawing after a very long time and this place just helped get excited with all the stuff they had for amateurs and beginners. I found pretty reasonable art supplies!

Sunday afternoon, im 1 of 2 whole customers,asked a member of staff for help finding something, got a vague point in the direction I'd already spent 5 minutes looking, if you can't be bothered neither can i.

I can't rate this store high enough. Despite the fact that goods are always at bargain prices, they have a Rewards card too! The shop is always laid out well and what makes it extra special for me is that all the staff are friendly and approachable. The quality of the goods is comparable to pricier shops such as WHSmith and Rymans, but in my experience, you don't get the same standard of customer service as you do in The Works. When I am in town, even if I have nothing to buy, I always pop in if I'm in the area because it's such a delightful store.

When I went to pick up an order, there was an item missing. When I got home and realised this and pointed this out, they said it must have fallen out and made no attempt to replace it. I then tried to leave reviews on their website for the items I'd purchased, since they asked for reviews. All the positive ones were posted, but the review for the item I did not receive, saying as much and advising people to check their order before leaving the shop, did not pass moderation. Says everything, doesn't it?

This shop is lovely. I've been coming here for more than 10 years and no matter the staff changes, they are all very polite and helpful. They always go the extra mile and chat at the tills. I think this is one of the best retail outlets for excellent customer service.
