Only a short drive from home but you feel like you're on holiday with the wonderful view of the river and boats. On a sunny day, nowhere better.

Only stopped for coffee but was really impressed with the staff & decor. They seem to have some good food on offer, so will come back for lunch. Great views over the water.We walked from Heybridge Basin. A great 5 mile walk, mostly flat, along the coastal path to Goldhanger. The Beach House is about 2 miles out from Heybridge Basin, so you can break the walk if required. Beware that, unless you want to walk back from Goldhanger as we did, the buses from Goldhanger to Heybridge Basin are infrequent & taxis aren’t always available. It’s an awesome 10 miles round trip walk.

Hi EveryoneI really like this place the view over the estuary is fantastic.However when we arrived the kitchen had no cook and as I understand it has trouble keeping its kitchen staff.The beer was good and the staff friendly and helpful but no food past salt and vinegar crisps.

Needs to become dog friendly inside. In the winter months dog walkers are the main potential clientele but who wants to sit outside with the wind and rain swirling around freezing cold!

Often pop in for a coffee and cake .. great place and service.. But sitting having a coffee yesterday 9th February after a river walk and some guy starts smoking an E cigarette and puffing clouds of smoke everywhere....inconsiderate or what...but no staff asked him to smoke outside where others do .or leave or put it out ...sorry but not impressed. Is this legal !!
