When I placed my order, the lovely server warned me that as she was on her own there would be quite a wait. We only waited about 5 minutes and our drinks and cakes had been brought to our table. Oh my goodness I was ready for that pot of tea!, and the carrot cake was delicious

Lovely dog friendly cafe. We opted to have the homemade tomato soup with brown bread which was just what was needed on a chilly day. The cafe was busy but despite this the service was very quick. A pot of tea for two and two soups came to £16.60 so good value for money. Certainly worth a visit if you are in the area.

I'm so glad this was the only option for our late lunch after a late start to the day of walking as it was absolutely delicious and would 100% recommend it for it's fresh cooked food, cakes and clean, warm and friendly atmosphere!They update their opening hours on Facebook which is worth checking.Food was cooked fresh from order and you could certainly tell, we both had burgers with chips. Staff were friendly and welcoming and we'll definitely be back!

We had vegan flatbread, really tasteful - will buy it again. Soup of the day was good as well, but lacked the finishing “spice” touch. Great service.

I would give them 6 stars if there was an option!It's a lovely little cafe with great food and such friendly staff. We arrived here almost near their closing time but they were more than happy to accommodate us. We had chicken cheese panini, fish burger, onion rings, beers and hot chocolate. Everything was brought out promptly and tasted delicious. The hot chocolate was especially good, very chocolaty, just how it should be! The place is perfect for a meal if you're in the area.

I don't usually do 5 star reviews or pictures but the Helvellyn Country Kitchen is the cafe/restaurant that you hope to find but rarely do. Incredible setting, lovely cafe, amazing cake and really nice coffee. Staff were relaxed, but attentive, and very friendly. Its a shame its so far from home
