Swanage Auto Centre

The Swanage Auto team are very helpful and friendly. They were happy to look at my car and give me advice in advance of my MOT without any charge or knowing if I would have my MOT done there but obviously did.

I have been using Swanage Auto Centre as my local garage for a couple of years now as I live locally and have always found Gary to be approachable and reliable. As a single female I often find male dominated work environments a little daunting but have always found this garage to be very chilled and welcoming.My old car has its MOT, any work needing and general check ups done quickly and with great communication regards pricing etc.Really happy to have a local reliable service provider and happy to recommend, just as they were recommended to me.

I was on holiday this last week just gone, Autumn half term, just me and my son, we had a lovely stay in one of the local B&Bs. We were there from the 25th October til the 2nd November. An overall lovely stay.The Only downside was, when exiting the B&B on Saturday,and finding my car had a flat battery!!Having holidayed here for years, i knew my way around, and came here to see if the guys could help me out. . . . .£300 for a jump start they quoted me, and they wouldn't do it til Midday!!I'm a single mom of one, desperate to show my son a relaxing half term holiday, and then some jumped up little mechanic tries to wangle £300 for a jump start!!I will be returning to Swanage for my future holidays, but this garage gets the thumbs down from me!

Wouldn't trust this guy one bit. They MOT and repair on site so when my car failed and would cost £800 to repair I went for a second opinion. Good job I did as it turned out to be £120 for a new tyre!My advice is avoid as it will fail on more than it should. He will come across all pally and all but its a front! RIP OFF SHOULD HAVE HIS LICENCE REMOVED!

Excellent garage and extremely knowledgeable. Very efficient service and comparatively reasonable prices. Looked after my old Nissan Micra with great care!

Great service. Came down from Warwick to visit family for the weekend and upon arrival in Swanage my engine mount collapsed. Gary was on hand straight away to take a look and diagnosed the problem immediately. Work was carried out as soon as he could fit me in as he was pretty busy with it being a friday. My car is now fixed and back on the road and happy knowing it's good to drive home tomorrow. Price was what I expected and was very happy with it and the overall service. Definitely recommended.

It's a great place and the owner (?) / the mechanic has an excellent eye, talented hands and a great heart.He helped us when the cooling system broke - there was a lekeage in one of the pipes, his help was at fly. Once again many thanks!

Recently bought a zafira from a car dealer in Wolverhampton with 10 months mot &No advisories informed the vehicle was previously part exd with another car from someone 200 miles away in (Swanage).After returning home an mot check was performed and resulted in being told the vehicle should never have had passed its mot at this garage due to rear bushes & a couple of other smaller issues and stated it was unsafe to drive.(I have 4 children traveling in it !!!)The vehicle had only done approx 200 miles that of the miles from the location of this garage shortly after being motd to Wolverhampton where the part ex was made then a few weeks later purchased by myself back to my home.I Called this garage to inform of its failure & received awful customer service and tried to fob me off until mentioning I was going to report to VOSA where they were still trying to argue their mistake & trying to accuse me then of threat ect... continues to talk over you and not listen to what your actually saying & getting it wrong but then reluctant to help to avoid argument & conflict I was told to retrieve the info of the failure and inform him only then he would respond with an answer pending time to review the case next day.Phoned next day and offered to send me 2 replacement bushes but at my cost to fit with labour. Their fault they shouldn't have passed illegally worn bushes!Offer NOT accepted & informed VOSA.Had my car fixed & inspected properly,My car is now safe.AVOID AVOID AVOID . Go to a proper garage where they will inspect your vehicle properly.

Recently moved to the area , and very pleased , has worked on our van and MOT my car , very friendly and very honest about pricing .
