The toilets were really basic (bit old) and the shower was so hot that my skin just evaporated upon contact. Fun fact: there was no way to control the temperature. The view was nice and it was close to a beach!.

Stayed here whilst doing the Coastal 500. Booked on the day we were meant to arrive. The woman that runs it is so friendly and lovely. Caravan was super clean and a really good price. If we are to go on holiday in Scotland again i will definitely be coming back.

Amazing views, we booked on the day we wanted to arrive with no issues (late Sept). Reviews say it's very dated, yes maybe the facilities (ie toilet block etc) were built a while ago but still very clean and in good working order. I didn't book for those facilities, I booked cause it had the EHU I required and the amazing views everyone wants.

The view is stunning from this camp, its a short walk to town and lidl is opposite the camp slight slope on all pitches. My only comment is that the facilities are dated and in need of a deep clean as whilst it is useable there are areas that need to be improved. We may have been spoilt by our previous 5 camps though .

We arrived late in the evening but there was still plenty of room for tents. The field is located on the very escarpment right next to the North Sea, which gives you the opportunity to watch beautiful sunrises.Showers and toilets clean. The price for one tent, three adults and a dog was only £26 per night!

We had to book the day before, as we went to the Orkney Islands and underestimated how long it would take to get back to where we were staying. Gorgeous location, everyone looks out at the sea, Orkney, the Old Man of Hoy. Clean, well kept facilities. Electrical hook ups, clean washrooms, and a well-stocked grocery story just a 5 minute walk away. It was nice and quiet at night, the guests are all respectful. Normally the restaurant on site would be available for morning coffee but it was closed when we were here. This is a great place to camp if you are going to the Orkneys, as you can see the ferry terminal from the sites!

Used as a 2 night stop to visit John O Groats. The site is excellent with great facilities. It was windy and exposed on the first night with my tent really struggling with the wind but second night was a good bit calmer.Short walk into Thurso Main St. with most businesses closed on Sunday. Diner on site also which was handy but I did not dine here.

Lovely location and good amount of space for tent camping. Shower and toilet facilities were nice and clean. Only a 5 minute walk from the centre where there are lots of nice food and drink options.

Lovely view of Thurso, bay and Orkneys. Unfortunately, Staff not very helpful in booking. Taking our 1 year old in the shower was a drama. Shower water turned scalding hot every time a few seconds after pressing the button. Lights turned off automatically while we were in the shower. Downright safety hazard. NOT recommended when you have small children! Besides that, showers and toilets were not clean to say the least.

First of all, I will start by saying this campsite has an amazing view!! There is a Lidl opposite, ideal for essentials and the walk into town isn’t too far.I found it strange how I booked online, paid a ‘deposit’ then had to pay the balance when we arrived. From reading previous reviews about the toilet blocks being unclean, I think they may of been given a bit of TLC since then, although the showers could do with larger cubicles. Trying to walk into the cubicle with my son was almost impossible without him having to stand inside the shower itself whilst I got in and closed the door. The push button operated shower stayed on for around 30 seconds, and with a large range of spray that came out of the shower head, trying to wash a child but stay relatively dry behind the shower curtain was virtually impossible at this place. The toilet cubicles looked relatively new and the walls seem to of been recently painted. The campsite backed onto a public footpath which was on the walled cliff tops. An adjoining park / football field was available to use, although this is not part of the campsite. We didn’t use the cafe on-site so I can’t comment about that. All in all, it was ok as a one night stop-off. I wouldn’t like to spend too long here.Be warned that this is located on the top of a small cliff, so during windy conditions I can imagine it being a little wild! The beach isn’t too far away which is beautiful and it was a hit with the kids.
